Gingham Girl

July 1, 2014

Ready for summer picnics, garden parties, & BBQs?

This month’s How I Wear My series hosted by the lovely Miss Jill of Everything Just So and lovely Miss Adrienne of The Rich Life (on a budget) asked for chic picnic looks.  I decided on a gingham theme, because who isn’t loving gingham this summer?!

Look #1 … for a romantic picnic or garden party ….

Ann Taylor Loft gingham shirt tied at the waist over this Old Navy summery white skirt.  Straw hat and bag and aviators.   Silver earrings and bracelets, and silver Impo sandals.

Look #2 … for a casual backyard BBQ or picnic at the park ….

Patriotic colors!  Navy and white gingham shirt over red tee (all from Target), Gap Always Skinny jeans, Old Navy sneakers, Ralph Lauren sunnies, and London Fog bag.

What kind of dork tries to turn
mustard into an accessory?!
That would be me!

Hope all my fashion dolls are having a wonderful start to their July! Happy 4th everyone!
May your fireworks be bright  ….and your condiments always compliment your outfit!  😉

Don’t forget to follow me on Bloglovin’!

You are so adorable and your posts just make me happy, they're always so upbeat. When I think of picnic, I also think of gingham (I actually did a picnic post last year at this time dressed almost identical to you in your white skirt), yes, we could be good friends and shopping buddies. Your back yard theme with your denim is also perfectly put together. Now let's talk about your incredible huge and ever so awesome picnic basket, wherever to you find this? It makes me want to run right over and join you for your backyard picnic.

Aww, you're so sweet, Trina! And wouldn't we have fun shopping together?!! I love that crazy oversized picnic basket too. I've have it forever … maybe 20 years! It was from Williams Sonoma and used to be filled with cute picnic gear that all got lost along the way. But there's no way to lose that big basket!
      Love your blog, Miss Fabulous!

These are both great summer picnic looks!! I don't own any gingham pieces-not sure why because I love the pattern. Your Old Navy maxi skirt is so pretty they have the best maxi's this summer I just bought a flowy blue one. Love the condiments comment, lol!
Have a wonderful 4th of July:)

Where do I start, lovely lady! Looks like we are both doing floppy sun hats today.( you look way better in this kind of hat) I love this purple checked gingham on you, great color and love it tied with the white long skirt. You look great. The jeans with the blue gingham looks like you are ready for that picnic. Hey, have you seen Kate Spades clutches lately, you could make that mustard bottle into a clutch hehe.

I KNEW there was something missing from my summer wardrobe line-up, dear Dawn!! A gingham shirt (or ANYTHING gingham, really!) is such a quintessential piece for this time of year…so cute tied at the waist like you did for your first look!! And even though I'm not really a sneakers girl, I think the ones you're wearing for your second outfit are kinda awesome!! XO
