One Floral Dress, Two Looks!

August 28, 2014

At an impulsive thrift store stop on the way home from work, I found this pretty floral dress for $3!

Not only was it a steal, but I also thought of two ways to wear it right now and a way to wear it into fall!

Here I’m wearing it as a dress …

Details:
Dress – Vintage Blue (thrifted)
Shoes – Madden Girl
Belt – Perry Ellis
Bracelets – Tilly’s & a vintage cuff
Purse – ? (thrifted)

For teaching today, I went for look #2.  Here I’m wearing the dress as a vest!
Details:
Jeans – Gap Always Skinny
Shoes – Michael Shannon
Tank – Ann Taylor Loft
(same purse, dress, and jewelry)

I had planned to wear the dress all open, but I decided it was cute buttoned at the very top.  What do you think?

I think I could wear this dress in the fall with tights, riding boots, and a denim jacket!

Gee, that’s a lot of ideas for three bucks!

I have a decent wardrobe budget and certainly could (and have!) spent so much more, but there’s something so fun about a $3 impulse purchase with so many possibilities!

Do you enjoy a thrift store adventure or are you more of a Nordy’s girl?  I’m totally both!

Cute dress, and I would say that is a steal. Even in goodwills you can't find a dress for $3 anymore. Rachel xo

Right? It's a little local thrift store for a local charity and such great prices!

I like the idea of keeping it closed at the top. So unusual.

Well, you've been over to visit a couple of times, you know I adore a good thrift find. I definitely shop in higher priced stores as well, alas usually during the sales period.

You have a thrift store that's on your route home from work, dearest Dawn?? That must be deadly (or heavenly…depending on your perspective, ha ha!!) I can't believe that you found this maroon floral wonder for only three bucks!! It looks lovely on you as a dress – of course! – but the way you styled it as a vest is a real "Wow!!" And yes, yes, yes to buttoning just the top like you did!! XOXO

Glad you like it buttoned up, Hon! It looks cute just open too, but I thought buttoned up gave it an interesting look! Haha … the store is not quite RIGHT on the way home, but …. close enough for an impromptu shopping spree now and then! 😉

I don't have much luck in thrift stores – but ever now and then will score a great find 🙂 Sales sections are where I buy most things 🙂
