Autumn Gingham

November 12, 2014

Silly me … here I was thinking that gingham was strictly for summer. But some bloggers made me rethink that and I felt inspired to incorporate gingham into a fall look! This is what I came up with.

It was a cute and comfy look! Though the hubby said, “hey, that shirt is kinda Jethro hillbilly looking.”

Thanks for the input, Dear.

Outfit details:
Gingham shirt – Merona (Target)
Cardigan – H&M
Jeans – Gap Always Skinny
Riding boots – Nine West American Vintage (DSW)
Handbag – Oryany
Sunglasses – Ralph Lauren
Watch – Movado
Cuff – J. Crew

Here’s a glimpse at the dining room in our new home.  Lots of windows and light! We bought this vintage dining set at an antique store this weekend and I think it’s perfect.  Also you can see our retro street lights in our new hood.

One of the best things about moving to a new neighbor is trying out all the restaurants!  This is a little bakery cafe and florist called Flower Flour … so cute and charming!

I would like to have a pastry and coffee and sit there and read blogs all day!

The selfies I tried to take slyly didn’t come out, but I really did wear my gingham outfit here.  Maybe next time I’ll be brave and ask someone to take my pic.

So Dolls, what do you think of gingham for fall?

Don’t forget to stay connected for more fashion fun!

Haha, your husband's comment made me laugh mine would probably say something like that too! I love the look though, so cute and comfy perfect for the cooler days. Your new home is beautiful and the retro street lights are so charming.

I am so jealous of your large windows, but I'm kind of glad we don't have a cafe like that nearby that I could walk to. None of my wardrobe would fit me after a week!

I think it looks great. I love the blue gingham, the boots and how you paired with a long cardi. YOur house looks lovely I like the light from the windows. And yes, hubby and I always have to check out the restaurants. THis is one thing he is excited about when we go back to Asheville and stay longer, where do we eat. and PS. My hubby has a limited vocab when describing a woman's clothes, not for lack of effort though!!

I love gingham, your husband is so funny! I see you have a windchime, I have several in my yard, I love them, so relaxing. I love this look, I would definitely wear it.

I really like gingham for the fall, I've never tried it in the spring. That cafe looks so cozy and quant, I could sit there and read blogs all day, too! Great outfit!

Your husband's comment was very funny…and familiar. I remember my husband commenting (when I wore a red gingham button down) that I looked like Ellie Mae Clampett. haha
Husbands sometimes just do not "get" the look we're going for. 🙂

Your outfit is lovely. I still have not added a gingham shirt to my wardrobe but you've inspired me to look for one.
Your neighbourhood restaurants look cosy. Enjoy!

I wouldn't have thought of gingham for fall either, dearest Dawn…but this look is truly autumn perfection!! A jeans-and-cardi outfit ALWAYS works for me; and when you add some boots and a fab bag?? Well, how can it possibly get any better?! (I know…I'd be sitting in your new neighbourhood café WITH you, haha!!) XOXO
