What does one wear to a cottage by the beach?
This is the fun fashion challenge that I have right now as my husband and I are planning our summer getaway. Here’s one look I came up with ….
Summer skirt, tank, and open weave sweater are all from Old Navy (in stores now).
A closer look at accessories …
Bag from Burlington and wedges from DSW. Coolibar sun hat. Beachy boho bracelets and turquoise earrings from Tilly’s.
Sunnies from CVS … seriously! Trying out bifocal sunnies to see how they work for me. (How old does that make me feel?)
Vintage ring from Grandma.
Note to self: next time do the non-hat pics first to avoid hat hair!
Necklace from Kohl’s several years ago.
And for my pet lovers out there …
I know my ham-it-up dogs get a lot of press in my blog, but today I wanted to introduce you to this special little guy, Pumpkin. We found out last week that’s he diabetic and so it’s been a week of learning for both of us … new food, new schedule, and insulin shots twice a day. He’s been a little trooper.
Love him so much!

I know all about "fur children" with illnesses, dearest Dawn…one of my ferrets has cancer, so he needs special meals and medication twice a day, too!! And I always forget to mention how cute your canine photo-bombers are; tell them to keep up the good work!! 😉 I LOVE your all-white outfit…and your brave plans to wear it for a cottage holiday; I don't know if I would stay clean for very long!! The turquoise jewellery accents are divine…especially the ring from your grandmother; and you're rocking that hat like nobody's business (what hat hair?!) XO

I just adore orange kitties! They're my favorite.
I own tri foculs which turn in to sunnies. It took weeks to get use to them. But so convenient now.

Orange tabbies are my favorite too! Don't tell Magick, my black tuxedo kitty (LOVE her too!). So far the bifocals make me dizzy! But maybe I should stick with it and see how it goes.

I love this outfit!! All white, the pretty light white sweater, and the lovely long white skirt, just gorgeous . It is funny, as I am writing, I am also looking for a summer hat!! I love yours on you, it looks so chic. I am trying to decide between a floppy lovely hat like this or a 40s style flapper in straw. Being that we are getting some very hot days, we need some sun protection besides fashion huh. Love the kitty pics too, precious.

What clued you in that Pumpkin was diabetic? Lucky baby to have you guys for his personal staff. (Dogs want family, cats need affectionate and efficient staff. So my cats tell me, anyway.)
Haha … So true about dogs & cats! Pumpkin had lost a bunch of weight so I took him to the vet for tests. Heading home tomorrow and can't wait to see my furbabies! My bday is Sunday! How is you know? Oxox
