Hamsa & Fun Fashion Friday Link Up!

April 9, 2015
Everything old is new again.
The hamsa image is showing up on tshirts and jewelry all over the place.  This ancient symbol has been used for centuries as protection against the evil eye in the Middle East and parts of Africa.  The vibe of this amulet fits right in with the bohemian aestetic so on trend right now.

Outfit details and shopping ideas:

Distressed BF jeans – Old Navy

Nude sandals – Michael Shannon (cute option, Zappos))
Shop for platform sandals at Shopbop.

Jewelry – Tillys

Studded clutch – Urban Expressions (Nordstrom Rack)
Shop for studded clutches at Zappos
Shop for studded clutches at Shopbop

And while the hansa symbol may guard against the evil eye, it’s no protection at all against my wild Siberian husky!

I decided to go with a casual theme for this week’s features:

Here’s Jill of Doused in Pink looking so cool and comfy.

Everyone knows I’m a sucker for a cute dog top and here’s Debbie of Fashion Fairy Dust looking adorable in hers.

Loving this striped top with the utility vest on pretty Casey of A Little Bit Of Cheer.

I love casual chic!

Now Dolls … link up, link back, browse around & have FUN!

Long Pendant Lust List!

April 7, 2015

I’ve always loved long pendant necklaces, ever since my mom told me they made me look taller and slimmer!  Mom always knows best, right?

This spring the pendants are long, lean, and oh so cool.   Since I’ve been collaborating with Shopbop, I’ve been drooling all over my keyboard browsing through their jewelry selection.

Here’s my long necklace lust list:

House of Harlow 1960 Reversible Arrow Affair

I’ve always thought House of Harlow is just the epitome of cool and I’m loving the idea of a reversible pendant!

Shashi is another jewelry brand with exquisite designs this season.   Isn’t this the perfect necklace for a spring boho look?

Shashi Crescent Necklace
Also loving this smart modern look:

Rebecca Minkoff Y Necklace

Okay, okay … just one more! How cool is this?

Alexis Bittar Long Spear Necklace

Which one is your favorite?
Are you loving the long pendant trend too?

And don’t forget that Shopbop has FREE three day shipping!  You could be wearing one of these beauties by next weekend.

Shop on, my pretties!

Spring Break with Chadwicks!

April 5, 2015

Chadwicks of Boston is always a great go-to site for pretty, classic styles and their spring collection this year is dreamy and delightful!
Chadwicks review, Chadwicks spring, Chadwicks of Boston, style over 40, fashion over forty, spring 2015
I felt like poetry in motion in this Ikat Print Floral Maxi.
Love the cool uneven hemline and the on trend Ikat print in ocean blues and spring greens.

This fab skirt even has a little half slip built in.

(This is the same embarrassed smile I had in most of my childhood pictures.  Gee, I could’ve saved this shot for the backyard, right?)
Ikat print maxi, embroidered scallop hem top, spring looks, spring style over 40

I have a feeling I’m going to be spending a lot of time this spring in this pretty Embroidered Scalloped Hem Top with such lovely detail around the neckline and the hem.  I love the 3/4 length sleeve and lightweight soft fabric.  Check out the top in beautiful Sea Mist and Sunset Coral too.

Rain-Bow Sweater & Fun Fashion Friday!

April 2, 2015

Last weekend my husband took me to see Rain, a Beatles tribute band.  I thought something a bit psychedelic was in order, so I wore my Free People sweater coat.  It’s an old favorite … seen in this Feb 2014 post.

Free People, style over forty, Lucky Brand jewelry, suede booties, what to wear to a concert, boho chic, boho over forty, hippie chic
Outfit details
Sweater – Free People
Distressed jeans – Old Navy
Booties – Vince Camuto
Bag – Nine West
Purple tee – Target
Necklace – Lucky brand

My husband got into the spirit and wore this rainbow Robert Graham shirt. Doesn’t he look handsome?

The show was great and we had a blast!

Wouldn’t Rebecca of Red Tag Chic Los Angeles fit right in with our boho vibe?  Loving this Stevie Nicks inspired ensemble she shared with us last week!

And I’m positive Steve Nicks would also approve of this magical look from Andrea of Boho Bunnie!

How lovely is Annette of Lady of Style in this pretty blue tunic?

And Glenda of So What to Twenty is looking like walking sunshine in this beautiful yellow dress!

Thanks so much everyone for linking up last week!  I’m so happy to say that Fun Fashion Friday is growing every week!  Have fun linking up, please link back, and be sure to visit and comment on some other blogs so we can all feel the LOVE!
