Are you old enough to remember when wearing black and brown together was a fashion no-no?! We had so many rules back then, didn’t we? No black with brown or navy, no mixing prints, and no white after Labor Day. It’s all silly and I’m glad that we’ve all gotten so good at breaking these rules!

Shop this Look:
With this look, I’m mixing Charlie B Collection brown wide leg jeans, with my Quince Washed Leather Biker Jacket, a black V-neck tee, and some heels for dinner out. My All Saints Captain Crossbody has been my most practical purchase this season. I use it ALL the time. It’s small enough to be a comfortable crossbody, but also big enough to fit a phone, wallet, keys and make-up. My other useful purchase has been my Lands’ End Braided Leather Belt. The best part of a braided belt is that you can make it any size at all!
What old fashion rules do you enjoy breaking?
Also on the blog lately, Wrapped in Denim for the holidays and a new (to me) sustainable and ethical brand to support.

About the blog: Fashion Should Be Fun is me talking to you, other middle aged women like me who are over 40, but not over fashion. We still want to look beautiful and stylish. We still want to have fun with trends. And we don’t need anyone giving us rules, because we’re all different. We all have our own shapes and bodies, parts we’d like to cover and parts we still don’t mind showing off a bit. This is a place for me to share my love of fashion with you, style ideas, tips, trends, and inspiration. I know how liking the way we look can translate into confidence and energy. I know we have so much life left to live and so much adventure ahead of us. Let’s show the world you’re never too old to have fun and be fierce! Kendra Scott statement earrings and a braided leather belt finish off the look.
