There’s a time in every teacher’s summer when the new school year starts to loom large … we start thinking of lesson plans in the shower, planning what books to teach while doing laundry, and wake up in a cold sweat from nightmares about uncontrollable kids! Then there’s the deciding what to wear on the first day of school. If you’re following me on Instagram, you’ve probably already voted for a first day outfit, but if you’re not following me … well, why not?! Follow me! I’m sure to do several posts on back-to-school outfits, but I felt like doing a fun outfit post today! And what’s more fun than leopard print, purple suede, and a new fav designer bag?!
Wearing an Old Navy perfect tank and distressed Flirt jeans, Merona (Target) leopard print cardigan, Aerosoles “Dolled Up” pumps in purple suede, Ralph Lauren sunglasses, and my new fabulous MK bag!
These new suede pumps are so comfortable that I could wear them anywhere.
Of course I added some arm candy, including vintage cuffs, a J. Crew gold cuff, and a wrap bracelet from Jest Jewels.
I love the color of my new Michael Kors Fulton Chain bag.
MK calls it “vintage yellow” … what would you call it, Dolls?
Aww … the calm before the storm that is the first week of school. I’ll try to keep up on my blogging, but if I do fall a bit out of the loop, you’ll know why. And I will be back! I have some fab collaborations just around the corner … think FALL!

I'm also a teacher, so what you described is exactly what I am going through right now! I love the idea of voting for your first day of school look. Deciding what I am going to wear on the first day is something that I still haven't figured out, but I still have a couple of weeks left of summer vacation. I love your look today with the combination of purple and yellow!

The night before a new course starts I always have 'teaching dreams', I guess it's sort of a dress rehearsal… That outfit would be perfect for school, too. Or does your school have a more formal dress code? I started 'school' yesterday, and my class of law students were all wearing shorts and cutoffs…
Oh wow, cool that you teach law school! We have an anything goes dress code at school. I usually don't wear distressed jeans, but hey, I just might this year! 😉

Funny though I am just about finishing my summer classes and then we are looking forward to summer vacation. Its pretty long up until beginning of Sep over here. Different in every state.
