Favs Remix for Day to Night

There are some pieces in your wardrobe that just survive every closet edit … and this fall floral dress is one of those for me.  I decided to remix the dress with some new jewelry and even do a day to evening look. Here’s what I came up with …

 

 

I’m loving the mix of the floral dress with the menswear inspired plaid blazer.  I think it adds something new and interesting to the outfit.

For the evening, I decided to try to wear the slip of the dress, as a dress.  I didn’t really have the right actual slip for underneath and it’s too sheer to go solo, but I like the look.  I never thought a slip dress would look good on me, but maybe I need to rethink that.  (Though to be honest, I don’t have many evenings that would call for such a sexy outfit!)  

The clutch?  It’s the inside of my Staud bag!

Of course the trouble with remixing old pieces for a blog post is that someone is going to want this exact dress and it’s long, long gone. But the versatile high-quality blazer is still available and all the jewelry is brand new for fall from Kendra Scott!  But I do hope a post like this inspires you to try a new remix on some old favorites from your own closets.  Buying pieces that you’ll love for years and wearing them in new ways is one of the best ways to contribute to sustainable fashion.  Plus it’s really fun, right?!
