Our Rock Star Weekend in LA

January 7, 2020

Last weekend, the hubby and I got to spend a weekend in LA feeling like rock stars!  Okay well mostly him, but I sure had fun too!  Here’s a few fun pics and a couple of suggestions on where to eat, shop and stay.  You might even recognize a few fashionistas who showed up!

After a long car drive, relaxing in the room in my plush Soma robe, was a no-brainer!

We stayed at The Beverly Hilton and I totally recommend it!  Gorgeous decor, wonderful service, great views! Plus they were setting up for the Golden Globes when we were there.  It’s like *almost* being there … hee.

When it’s 59 degrees, a turtleneck is perfectly acceptable poolside attire!

My favorite places to eat in LA are all casual and chill. I love Urth Caffe (such pretty coffees and great breakfast too), The Pain Quotidien for a healthy lunch, and The Griddle Cafe for a pancake splurge (prepare to wait for a table, even on a week day).

Melrose Avenue is my favorite place to shop in LA.  I love the funky, weird and wild shops. And I always have good luck at their vintage stores, especially American Rebel!  And you can find your share of designers too. All Saints, Alice & Olivia, Marc Jacobs, and Rag and Bone all have stores here.

The real reason for the trip was that my husband’s band Death Valley Gypsies was playing at the iconic Whisky a Go Go on Sunset Strip!  So exciting! And a couple of New York Fashion Week friends even showed up for the fun. What an awesome surprise! We all had a blast!

The black and white photos are taken by the band’s amazing photographer, Wayne Lawton.  Check him out on Facebook and Instagram!

Wish I had gotten a better shot of my outfit, but you can shop it here:

Yep, that’s my rock star hubby, Shannon!  How much do you love that outfit?!!!

What a fabulous way to end 2019!  Can’t wait to see what the new year brings! In case you missed it, please let me know what you think about my style dream for 2020, as well as your thoughts on the new gray hair movement!
