Peter Pilotto for Target

February 9, 2014

Every good diet has a cheat day, right?  That’s what I’m telling myself today, since I cheated on my “no shop February” by buying some Peter Pilotto for Target items!  And just like a yummy pastry that you enjoy every bite of, this cheat was well worth every “calorie.”

Sending out a big thanks to my fabulous Instagram fashionistas who reminded me that today was the collection debut!  I was there when Target opened at 8am and I certainly wasn’t alone.

I added myself to the line outside with about 25 other fashion addicts.  Then it was the mad rush to the racks giggling and grabbing!  We were women bonding on our shared mission …. “Anyone have a small in the cardigan?”  “Anyone see the red sweatshirt?” “If you don’t buy that, can I have it?!”
It was a fun time!
Off to the dressing room with my picks and the lighting sure didn’t help my questionable photography skills.

(I’ll get better!)

This sweatshirt was cute, but not that flattering.  (I guess what sweatshirt really is flattering though!)
This was one of the cardigans over a dress.
This dress was pretty, but too clingy and form-fitting for work. A lot of the dresses had a very junior-ish vibe, but there were a few good choices for the over 40 fashionista. And the separates had some great picks!  Along with the clothing, the collection had bathing suits, tote bags, sunglasses, and sneakers.  I’m not ready to try on bathing suits, but I did pick out some super fun sunnies!
And my favorite purchase ….
… a super soft t-shirt with a contrasting print on the sleeves.  Here are some more pics I took at home, playing with my new purchases.
With a moto …

With my favorite red bag!

With my red coat.

Too rainy for outside shots, but I took one under the awning!

And one more!
So, was it worth the cheating? I did restrict myself to two items. The t-shirt was $19.99 and the sunnies $16.99 …. bargains!  To me, it was well worth taking a day off from no shopping this month to be a part of this colorful Peter Pilotto celebration!
Did you shop this collection yet?  Tell, tell!
Linking this post to Visible Monday
… a very fun weekly round up!  Check it out!

Love the floral tee with the moto jacket. Great look! And cute sunnies! I grabbed a couple of dresses and a sweatshirt myself but I did it online. Too lazy to go to the store.

Oh too bad! But I bet you have some fab shopping in Dubai!

I think the floral tee was a great purchase and you did a really good job with your review. I was going to go over and look for something for my daughter but did not want to fight any crowds!

Aww thanks, Pam! I'm curious to know what's left in the stores. At our Target, everything was really picked over after only 20 minutes!

Love the tee! So many times its so crowded with designer stuff at Target—I miss out! xoxo

Aww thanks! I usually don't do crowds either but this was actually kinda fun! (Maybe I was just in the right mood!)

My no spending February has been ruined because of Target too! My mum is in the USA at the moment (I am in the UK) so she bought me a top. Now, if I don't pay her back that means it's a gift and my no spending in February is still in tact yes?!!!!!!!

I wanted that red top but it had sold out 🙁

That totally makes it a gift! 🙂 Wow, I'm so glad I got that top when I did. I didn't know it was sold out, though I know the racks were looking a bit bare by time I left the store yesterday!

Really cute Dawn. Love that shirt and the sunglasses. I wish I went to, but I had no clue about this sale. Great finds!

I almost bought you a pair of sunnies, Sweetheart! But I just wasn't sure you'd like them. Yes, it would've been so fun to have you along! Next time!

What a fun pieces! I haven't checked it out yet, but unlike everywhere else, these Target collections tend to stick around my stores for a while, so I have time.

Yes, you look wonderful in your choices! The I was at ours … only found one thing I liked for myself, and did buy it. I will stop back by mid-week, though, as sometimes a few more items drift in.
Nobody but me there, though. I made notes on my blog, too. I always have something to say, but it's not always useful!

Dear Dawn, if there ever was a reason to break a shopping "fast," I'd say this was it!! You'll get a ton of mileage out of that tee – love the contrasting sleeves! – and the sunglasses are a major personality piece!! Definitely a whole lot of impact for a very small investment…so don't feel guilty!!

Thanks Monika! I'm pleased with my purchases! My shopping fast was mostly due to lack of closet space, so I'm going to try to do a closet clean out next week. Oxox adore u!

Love the t-shirt. I got it in yellow… so so super soft. I got the floral slip on sneaker, the black and white swimsuit and my favorite was the geometric print black and white mini skirt. Didn't restrict myself at all … 🙂
