Spring 2022 Trends

Frankly, the older I get, the less trends matter when it comes to actually dressing myself for my real life.  However, I do still find trends fun! And I really enjoy seeing the latest come down the catwalks! I like adding a few trendy pieces to my rotation. Here are a few of the trends that I’ve noticed for Spring/Summer 2022, along with some commentary of how I’ll be translating them to my 50-something California casual wardrobe …. or not!

Saturated Color

Aww, I do love saturated color, especially these deep jewel tones! Gorgeous!  As I suggest in my wardrobe building posts, a great method to wardrobe building is to work around a few favorite neutrals and then use colors as accent pieces. I expect to do this for spring with some pops of hot pink and maybe some spring green if I can find the right item.  However, if you have the budget and the boldness, why not go for ALL saturated colors?  You’ll look runway ready and I’m sure heads will turn!

All White

 

Fresh and minimal, the all white look is here again for spring 2022.

 

Mirco Mini

Sooo many micro minis on the runway that I had to mention them, but I definitely won’t be adding one to my closet!  If you love your legs, you do you, Lady!

 

Motocycle Jackets

Moto jackets are a classic that comes back into fashion over and over again.  Go for something more classic if you’re investing in something pricey or pick something of-the-moment if you’re going for a bargain.

 

 

Stripes

 

Black and white stripes for spring are about as groundbreaking as florals, yet I can’t help but love them! I think I add something black and white and striped all over almost every single spring!

Wide Pants

Wide legs pants are very in right now!  That doesn’t mean you can’t wear your other silhouettes, but you might want to add something wide leg to your closet.  How about some classy trousers or fun jeans?
