Spring Maxi Dress – Palm Desert with Chico’s

March 24, 2019

And the story of my Chico’s adventure in Palm Desert continues with a beautiful maxi dress, a desert tour, and … doggies!

On Day Two of our trip to Palm Desert with Chico’s, we started with a desert tour with Red Jeep Desert Adventures. We all piled in for a beautiful and educational ride. Our guide “Rick-o-pedia” seemed to know everything about the Coachella Valley and the San Andreas Fault. We were super fortunate to be visiting after an unusual amount of rain and the desert wildflowers were blooming all over. It was a treat!

In the evening, we dressed for another evening on the town. I wore this pretty Mixed-Print Maxi Dress, a beautiful piece for spring, and the perfect thing to throw in a suitcase for a resort vacation. With the boho vibe and mixed prints, it’s so on trend for spring. The kimono sleeves are fabulous too, and there’s a lining under the arms that keeps things modest. Plus the forgiving cut is perfect for vacation of indulgences! Of course I added fun colorful Chico’s jewelry: Fiery Gold Tone Chandelier Earrings with the Fiery Gold Tone Illusion Necklace.

The totally gram-able Sands Hotel Spa was the perfect backdrop for a quick snap before we left.

All dressed and ready to go, the Chico’s Squad (we named ourselves that!) headed off Fashion Week El Paseo again for an evening of style and socializing!

The fashion show was too adorable for words. This show was a benefit for Animal Samaritans and my regular readers know how much I love my pets. The designer being showcased was Victor Tung, who I believe is from San Francisco. I loved his funky looks and now I need to track him down in the city! Here’s a little sample of the cuteness we were treated to!

After the show, we went out for a delicious Mexican dinner (if you’re in Palm Desert, go to Fresh Agave for the best chicken mole!) and more laughter and more style and blogger talk. Again, I can’t say enough good things about this group of bloggers  (Wardrobe Oxygen, More Than Turquoise, She She Show, The Real Chic Life). We just vibed together so well. By the end of the trip, we were spilling secrets around the fire pit like long lost sisters! Love these ladies! Thanks for much Chico’s for bringing us together and treating us to such an amazing weekend!

And if you missed it, be sure to check out our first evening in Palm Desert and my Traveler’s Collection striped set!

About the blog: Fashion Should Be Fun is me talking to you, other middle aged women like me who are over 40, but not over fashion.  We still want to look beautiful and stylish.  We still want to have fun with trends.  And we don’t need anyone giving us rules, because we’re all different. We all have own shapes and bodies, parts we’d like to cover and parts we still don’t mind showing off a bit.  This is a place for me to share my love of fashion with you, style ideas, tips, trends, and inspiration. I know how liking the way we look can translate into confidence and energy. I know we have so much life left to live and so much adventure ahead of us. Let’s show the world you’re never too old to have fun and be fierce!
