Every teacher is always keeping an eye out for the perfect teacher dress! What is a perfect teacher dress? It’s a dress that is comfortable and versatile and makes you feel confident, but is very un-fussy. Machine-washable is a must. Extra credit for sustainability! For my body shape, age, and personal preference, my perfect teacher dress is midi length, 3/4 length sleeves, a V neck is great IF it’s not too low cut and doesn’t gap open (this one doesn’t). This Chapelle Dress from Seasalt Cornwall ticks ALL my boxes and it’s on major sale right now too!
Looking for high-quality, sustainable, and grown-up clothing? Let me suggest Seasalt Cornwall, a British brand with a collection of beautifully made and practical clothing. Seasalt Cornwall is inspired by the creative force of the sea and beach life. The pieces are made to last and sustainable, so it’s shopping you can feel really good about.
This post a a paid collaboration with Seasalt Cornwall. All opinions are all my own as always.
About the blog: Fashion Should Be Fun is me talking to you, other middle aged women like me who are over 40, but not over fashion. We still want to look beautiful and stylish. We still want to have fun with trends. And we don’t need anyone giving us rules, because we’re all different. We all have our own shapes and bodies, parts we’d like to cover and parts we still don’t mind showing off a bit. This is a place for me to share my love of fashion with you, style ideas, tips, trends, and inspiration. I know how liking the way we look can translate into confidence and energy. I know we have so much life left to live and so much adventure ahead of us. Let’s show the world you’re never too old to have fun and be fierce!
This week I’m immersed in my back-to-school teacher life, but last week I was enjoying my last week of freedom with some quality girl time with Cathy of Bay Area Fashionista and this is what I wore.
High-waisted wide-leg jeans are so in right now that I wanted to try styling mine in a new way. These are The Baggy Jean from Everlane, but I decided to crop them to an ankle length myself, which of course is really easy these days with the raw edge trend.
I love dressing for the holidays! But I seldom have an invitation that requires an evening dress. Most of my events are pretty casual: family meet ups, lunch with friends, the teacher holiday get-together. So this season I decided to pick out pieces that would look fabulous for these types of events and then after the holidays, I could wear each piece again and again.
I’ve challenged myself to try to share more outfits with wardrobe staples that I’ve had in my closet, rather than just showing new things … though let’s face it, that’s really fun too!
