Wardrobe Staples – The Summer Midi/Maxi Skirt

July 29, 2018

So Ladies, I was thinking about what summer wardrobe items that I couldn’t live without and I thought of these two gauze maxi skirts that I’ve had for years, one black and one white. I knew I got a lot of wear out of both of them, but when I started going back through photos, I was even more amazed how often I wear them!

Do you have a black and white maxi skirt in your wardrobe, Dolls? This might be a good time to invest in one.  Some will be on sale now too!  These two classic styles just keep on being great staples.

The funny thing is that I bought the two of them so long ago that I’m not sure even where they’re from. I’m thinking one is Soft Surroundings and the other TJ Maxi or Nordstrom Rack …?  Anyway, I’ve decided that we all need one (if not both) of these skirts in our wardrobes.  Why?

3 Reasons You Need a Summer Maxi Skirt

1 – Cool and comfortable.

2 – Flattering coverage

3. – Super versatile.

4 WAYS TO WEAR

1 – Wear with a pretty blouse for a date night or vacation look.

2 – Wear with a graphic tee shirt and sandals or sneakers for a casual funky look.

3 – Wear with a chambray shirt and flats or booties for a wear to work look.

4 – Wear over a swimsuit with a tank, sunhat, beach tote, and flip flops.

I’m sure you can think of many more ways to wear too!

My skirts are both gauze, but a other lightweight fabric could be just as versatile.  Either floor sweeping maxi length or more of a long midi length would work. I always tend to lean toward a length that will show off cute shoes!  ?  I’ve found a few that I really liked and shared shopping links below.

ICYMI, the other wardrobe staples I’ve covered so far are: the Little Black Dress, Perfect Black Pants, and Denim Jacket. Of course there are many more items I will be adding to this series over time!  What items are wardrobe staples to you, Ladies?

For me, I think a midi skirt would be more practical than a maxi skirt. Any links to a black midi skirt that would include the size XL?

    Thanks in advance.

Sure, I agree … I love a midi length! The J.Jill one above is more midi, comes in black and navy, and comes in XL, as well as petites, tall, or plus sizes!! I have the skirt in blue and I wear it all the time!

So many fabulous looks featuring some great skirts. I love you in res and orange though. The outfit with the orange wrap top is my favorite. So polished and classy!
