Kimono Dragon

Never one to let a trend pass by untried (even if that just means in the dressing room), here’s my salute to the kimono craze!

I’m loving this trend … so boho, so 70’s, so comfy!

Wearing my kimono here with flared Lucky brand jeans, Michael Shannon wedges, basic black Old Navy tank, Carlos Santana handbag, and lots of fun jewelry.

Not sure if I’d really wear a kimono too often, I didn’t want to invest a lot. Got this pretty one on sale at H & M.

The top necklace is a jade dragon that I bought at the street fair in Portland. It was one of those things that I just had to have, but wasn’t sure if I’d really wear it. But I’m absolutely loving it with this kimono! (I have a dragon tattoo to match, but that’s a whole other story!)

The bottom pendant is Lucky Brand. Just adore their vibe!

Hard to take my vogueing too seriously with these two mutts laughing behind my back. “Crazy mommy!”

Nice that the kimono covers the rear end so well! Don’t you hate it when something cuts you off at an unflattering spot?

I’ll be keeping my eyes open for another one … maybe something longer, and more colorful … with fringe!

Red, White, Blue & Shopping

Started celebrating the 4th early with a little shopping fun with my buddy, Lynn!

I wore blue jeans, a blue tank, a white open weave sweater, and carried my fav red purse.

But in this pic Lucky steals the show, as usual!

And the lovely Lynn steals the show in this photo with her pretty cobalt blue dress and leopard belt!

Lots of silly dressing room fun at White House / Black Market.

Of course, we ended up with lots of shopping bags!

Ready for summer picnics, garden parties, & BBQs?

This month’s How I Wear My series hosted by the lovely Miss Jill of Everything Just So and lovely Miss Adrienne of The Rich Life (on a budget) asked for chic picnic looks. I decided on a gingham theme, because who isn’t loving gingham this summer?!

Look #1 … for a romantic picnic or garden party ….

Ann Taylor Loft gingham shirt tied at the waist over this Old Navy summery white skirt. Straw hat and bag and aviators. Silver earrings and bracelets, and silver Impo sandals.

Look #2 … for a casual backyard BBQ or picnic at the park ….

Patriotic colors! Navy and white gingham shirt over red tee (all from Target), Gap Always Skinny jeans, Old Navy sneakers, Ralph Lauren sunnies, and London Fog bag.
