I love dressing for the holidays! It’s the perfect time to be a little extra and let yourself sparkle, shine, and shimmer! It’s fun to buy a special dress for a fancy party. But it’s also nice to pick out something new to mix in with what you already have. I’ve tried to give you a variety of choices in this post and I picked only things I felt like I would actually wear!
In this outfit below, I mixed a new red leopard skirt with a velvet Tadashi Shoji jacket that I was a lucky thrift store find. I added my red suede boots that I had bought for fashion week. I kept the rest simple with a plain black leather clutch and faux diamond earrings. I wanted to show that a few new things mixed with what you already had might be just the ticket to a fabulous festive outfit. And isn’t it nice to add pieces to your wardrobe that you’ll actually wear again?

About the blog: Fashion Should Be Fun is ME talking to YOU, other middle-aged women who are over 40, but not over fashion. We still want to look beautiful and stylish. We still want to have fun with trends. And we don’t need anyone giving us rules, because we’re all different. This is a place for me to share my love of fashion with you, including style ideas, tips, trends, and inspiration. I know how liking the way we look can translate into confidence and energy. I know we have so much life left to live and so much adventure ahead of us. Let’s show the world you’re never too old to have fun and be fierce.

I love your skirt! The red is something else with the leopard print! Great boots too!
I have a red leopard pleated skirt and I have never worn it with red boots… why the hell not?!
I will be remedying that immediately as this outfit looks fabulous!!
