Lilly Pulitzer for Target Review!

April 19, 2015
Another Target designer collaboration, another cray cray Sunday morning of shopping fun!

And what a collection of summery fun!
Big kudos to Target & Lilly Pulitzer for including plus sizes.  Personally, I think every collection should.

Lilly Pulitzer for Target – be warned, there’s a lot sold out already.

And sure I got a little carried away! Everything was so bright, Palm Beach-y, and fun! Here’s my haul ….

Part of the fun for me is getting there early and chatting with the other fashionistas in line.  Here we are anxiously waiting and peering through the sliding door!

This first thing I ran for was this blue tote which I wanted more than anything and it was sold out online. My Target only had 2 of each color, so being first in line really paid off.

The purse rack at 8:03 …

The selection at my store was a bit disappointing but I certainly found more than enough to make me very happy!

Dressing room selfies …

This pretty strapless dress was very nice fabric and even had a built in shelf bra.

Side note:
I know some people complain about the quality of the Target/designer collaborations, but I’ve always been pleased. I think it’s just a matter of taming your expectations. Of course you’re not going to get full designer quality.  What are you going to get is decent quality, designer style, and Target prices!  Hello?  Good enough for me!

This jumpsuit was fun …

But I liked the palazzo pants even better …

I didn’t even take the time to button up this cute lace top!  I felt bad
because this cute young gal really wanted the small size too and I got there first.  I really tried not to like it too much so she could have it, but I couldn’t help myself.  It came home with me.

a

Also loved this gauze tunic. I really wanted the orange but our store only had the blue and hey, it matched my tote I was so proud of getting!

I also came home with this V-neck floral top. This is an XS in the picture and too tight, so I went up to the S.  (Sizes seemed true to expectation. I ended up with small in everything.)

Couldn’t you die how cute this pineapple zipper is?

The sheath dresses have that cute zipper too!

I also got flip flops and scarves!  Very fun shopping day for me!  How did you dolls do?  What did you think of the collection?
You’ll definitely be seeing quite a few Lilly Pulitzer outfit posts from me soon!

OXOX

A true fashionista! I was online last night and got some of the links for the leaked ones but Target stopped that quick so I wasn't able to buy anything. I am not a big LP fan so I decided not try and go and join the madness. I have to say the prints of this collab is adorable. Reading all the horror stories, I am glad I didn't go to the store.

The early morning chase is part of the silly fun for me. But yeah, I know a lot of gals didn't get what they wanted and were disappointed. OXOX

These all look like such fun colourful pieces. We no longer have Target in Canada…so one less temptation.

LOL! You got the exact opposite of the things I got. I'm not one for flip flops and purses, so I didn't even bother. My store had none of the scarves or the jewelry which is sad because I really wanted the giraffe necklace. I didn't get any store selfies or shelf pics, but I think I may do a surprise Sunday post about my Lilly Pulitzer/Target experience. Congrats on your haul!

I'll be keeping an eye out for your post, Girl! No jewelry at my store either! Boo!

Maybe I should've bought that maxi dress! I had just bought a strapless jumpsuit and come on, how much strapless can a 48 year old do?! 😉 OXOX

I didn't get that dress but it was so cute and such nice fabric! The shelves for the home products were just about empty at the Monterey Rd. store. Let me know if you get anything! Did you see that cute pineapple serving bowl/tray? OXOX

Nice review! I got the strapless maxi too and was pretty happy with it. Some of the stuff you got, my store never even had. Looks like inventory was different store to store. http://www.therecessionista.com/2015/04/the-recessionista-reviews-lilly-for-target.html

I'M SO JEALOUS! I woke up at 4am to look online and the site was down…woke up at 7:30 am and put a couple things in my cart but 2 minutes later they were gone. I didn't even dare to go to Target. I wanted the blue jumpsuit and a dress and romper so badly! Do you think stores will put more in stock?

Great looking stuff. I really loved the one piece on you but I can understand wanting to go with the more versatile pants instead. My daughter bought the short pink dress and says she feels like Barbie in it. In a good way of course.

Now I'm singing that Barbie World song in my head! 😛

You got some awesome things! 😀 I really like the printed pants, they are a great buy! It's coming into summer for you isn't it? These will be perfect got that! 🙂 It's good you got a chance to try on so many things even if the selection wasn't as wide as you hoped.

You look very tropical-chic and completely lovely in your choices! I'm reminded of my SoCal 60's summers with these prints and silhouettes. Good for you, 'cause you wear them like a cover girl.
This is the first time I've missed a Target collab since our local opened. I wasn't in love enough with the ideas to chase them down this time, but mainly I was put off by the media-mini-mavens so outraged that LP designs would be available to all us "basics" instead of their imaginary super-class of the deserving. I want to write long letters to their mothers, explaining in detail where they went wrong in raising their vapid daughters. Harumph.

    • Reply dawnlucy April 25, 2015 at 9:47 pm

So Cal 60s sounds like an amazing inspiration! Oh I know, how dare us regular folk get to wear some Lilly. LOL.

I am so jealous… I really wanted to shop this sale, but we were out of town for a wedding… a town so small that the closet Target was an hour and a half away (the one in my home town ha!). And, since we were at the wedding late… there was no way I was going to try to online shop. Awhile, maybe next time. I just LOVE all of the pieces you got, every single one! Enjoy!!!

Ooh I love seeing all the pieces you got to try on and good for you getting there early so you got the purse you wanted!! I loved when I was able to do that at some of the past collabs and I agree with you about the quality, I've always been happy with it, and after all it's good for the low prices. So glad you kept the while lace top!! It's perfect on you. :))
