Salt: Earthy meets Elegant & MRS Link Up!

Last week I introduced SALT, an amazing handmade local jewelry brand. (If you missed that post, you can read it here.)

This week, I’m showing off more stunning Salt jewelry!

Sarah Borgeson is the creative force behind SALT and this is what she has to say about her experience …

“I began making things jewelry-related at an early age. Growing up in Mill Valley in the 70’s I frequented the Marin City Flea Market and found no shortage of cool junk and excellent people-watching. Fast forward to 1988. As an art school graduate with a BA in Sculpture I was hired into a position working with accessories designer David Navarro in San Francisco. I was an assistant to Mr. Navarro in his 3rd Street studio for 3 years and thoroughly enjoyed the exposure to the industry as well as to witness David’s inspired creative process. Under David’s guidance I was asked to create one of a kind pieces for his line Navarro Alternatives that were sold to Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue as well as small boutiques nationwide. David was a mentor who recognized my strengths and encouraged me to make things that were off-beat and distinctive. He showed me that it was worthwhile to take risks and important to tune in to customers. Fast forward to 2013. Today SALT california is a one-woman show; I design and make all of the pieces myself and I manage all aspects of the business. I have stayed in business for the past two decades because of my ability to think on my feet and my willingness to flex with the times. I sell to boutiques and gift shops across the country and… I love what I do!”

I love unique hand-crafted jewelry. And supporting local small businesses as well as individual artists and craftspeople is a huge plus, too! I recently discovered a local artisan who specializes in sterling silver creations and my one piece from her is my absolute favorite! I can't wait to acquire more unique and interesting pieces. Your jewelry set is gorgeous!

Love the natural look with the unique and beautiufl jewelry set. I know we both love to find great artisans, and I will have to look into them. The taupe outfit with the crocheted cardigan and jeans look perfect with this look!
