It’s good to remind ourselves that we don’t always need new things for a new season. Oh, I do have some new things coming and I’m excited about them, but there’s always favorites in our closet that we can mix and match and feel good in.

Shop this Look:
This look is all about favorites I’ve had in my closet, capsule wardrobe pieces that get remixed over and over again. Those are the things that are really worth investing in.
I’m wearing:
A plaid wool oversized blazer, that I’ve had for years and it always looks chic. The exact one is no longer available, but I’ve found several good ones for you (here and here).
A black leather tote bag is another thing I’ve had FOREVER and still use. This one is Botkier and is also no longer available, but a good quality leather tote will always serve you well. (How about this one and this one?)
The boots I’ve had for about a year and they are a core item that is still available. Black ankle boots will always be something I have in my closet, I’m sure. These are stretchy and comfortable.
The belt is last season too and I love it because you can cinch it anywhere, so it’s like having a bunch of different-sized belts in one. I need that because my waist is much smaller than my hips, so depending where a belt is hitting I could be three different belt sizes! LOL.
The jeans you’ve all seen a million times and as always, I can’t stress enough what a bargain they are. Pro tip: Hang them upside down my the hems to keep the hems laying flat and smooth.
A striped tee is always such a versatile piece and it’s something else I can’t imagine not having in my closet!
Yes … new things coming soon to the blog! But for now, let’s remember that oldies can be goodies. Shop your closet first … and THEN pick new things in invest in.
