Do you love summer clothes? I’m really more of a fall/winter girlie … and when the newness to summer wears off and we’re left with August heat, I need to do something to shake things up a bit. I looked into the back of my closet for something that I haven’t worn yet this season and found these comfortable wide leg pants. A pop of red and a bandana on my straw bag made it feel a bit fresh.

I don’t like shorts, do you? I think a lightweight maxi skirt or soft gauze pants are a good alternative. These black gauze pants have been in my closet for a couple of years and I don’t always think of wearing them because I always reach for my denim before anything else. Habit? California lifestyle? I don’t know … but it’s nice to mix things up a bit and rewear something that been in the closet but hasn’t been getting its fair usage.
I balanced the wide leg flowy pants with a fitted top. That used to always be the rule, but now wearing loose with loose is also trending. That gives us lots of options!
I’m wearing these comfortable and versatile Birkenstock sandals and carrying a straw bag bargain from Amazon. My gauze pants were from Macys several years ago, but I found these and these. The red tank is also older, but here’s a cute option. My pretty gold hoops are available still. They were a gift from my dear friend, Lynn.
What is your favorite thing to wear in the summertime?
Also on the blog lately, these chic leather sandals and a fun double denim look.
