Celebrating World Teacher Day with dressbarn!

October 4, 2018

dressbarn has always been a popular place for working women to get quality clothing at an affordable price, so it’s always been a great option for teachers.  On top of that dressbarn treats their teachers very well with everyday value, events, and discounts!

Dress Barn, teacher style

Did you know October 5th is World Teacher Day?  It was a no brainer to partner with dressbarn to celebrate teachers on this special day!

World Teachers' Day, celebrate teachers

World Teacher Day

World Teacher Day, also know as International Teacher Day, has been celebrated on October 5th each year since 1994.  It’s a day to celebrate teachers, and to bring to the public’s awareness the importance of teaching to the future of our world, along with improving education for teachers and their working conditions across the globe.

The dressbarn Story

dressbarn started in Stamford, Connecticut in 1962.  Roslyn Jaffe wanted to create a place for working women to shop for stylish clothing at a good value.  And who needs stylish, comfortable work outfits at a good price more than teachers?  Teaching and dressbarn were always a natural match. Over 50 years later the store is still going strong, providing women affordable clothing for work as well as many other aspects of their lives.

The dressbarn Academy

The dressbarn Academy is a teacher loyalty program that you can sign up for online.  Teachers get seasonal style guides, invitations to events, and 15% off regular priced merchandise when you shop in store with a valid teacher ID!  How great is that?!

My dressbarn Outfit (C/O)

Printed Puff Paint Faux Wrap Dress – This flattering dress is fabulous for that summer to fall weather. It’s short sleeve, but the colors are so pretty for fall.  Wear it with a jacket or a cardigan in the morning and without in the warm afternoon.  This textured puff paint adds such a fun extra detail to the dress.  And don’t forget, faux wraps are universally flattering!

Faux Leather Studded Jacket – Okay so maybe this wasn’t the obvious choice for a teacher look, but isn’t being a teacher about adding your own flavor, whether that’s to a lesson plan or to an outfit?!  The rocker chick in me had to have this fun studded moto jacket. And the way it’s styled here, I think it’s actually fabulous for a day of teaching!  What do you think?  You know you’ll be seeing it styled with other things soon as well.

Sammie Criss Cross Heel – I’m all about a 3 inch heel.  As a matter of fact, when shoe shopping, one of my biggest complaints is that heels are 4 inches or 1 inch, and where are those perfect 3 inch heels? They’re high enough to be flattering but comfortable enough to walk and stand in all day.  Love the criss cross detail with a zipper up the back.

Faux Leather Bottom Plaid Tote – And one thing that I know for sure no teacher can live without is a big roomy tote bag!  I’m always carrying all sorts of things to school and back every day.  With a big hearty tote, I can stick in notebooks, folders, a bottle of water, a snack  … along with all my regular purse necessities.  And of course plaid is so huge right now.  This subtle black and white plaid will go with everything.  This bag is super versatile and practical!  (Which reminds me, next time I’m temped to buy an adorable little bag that nothing fits in, would you please stage an intervention for goodness sake?!!)

Pave Teardrop Earrings – These pretty little earrings were delayed getting to me, but won’t they look great with this outfit when they get here?  Actually, they will  look great with lots of things!
