The Outfit
I wore a lot of oldies-but-goodies for this morning coffee. I’ve been trying to wear what I have rather than buying a lot of new things (though to be honest, I do hope Santa will bring a few new pieces my way.) I love my classic houndstooth wool coat and my paired it with my sassy houndstooth booties (a Nordstrom sale pick from years ago). The red sparkle turtleneck also several years old (from Chico’s). The NYDJ black denim and the pretty earrings are current and shoppable! My Marc Jacobs tote was a splurge from many years ago, but shows you that a classic leather tote never really goes out of style. Doesn’t Lynn look amazing in cobalt blue? Get her adorable puff sleeve sweater on sale here!
The Coffee
Lynn and I both got cappuccinos and monkey bread pastries for our morning treat. Everything was delicious and the location was super cute. On our way out, we got some cold brews to go and those were wonderful as well. We definitely recommend Voltaire for a perfect morning cup!

Fun & Fashion,
Dawn Lucy
About the blog: Fashion Should Be Fun is me talking to you, other middle aged women like me who are over 40, but not over fashion. We still want to look beautiful and stylish. We still want to have fun with trends. And we don’t need anyone giving us rules, because we’re all different. We all have our own shapes and bodies, parts we’d like to cover and parts we still don’t mind showing off a bit. This is a place for me to share my love of fashion with you, style ideas, tips, trends, and inspiration. I know how liking the way we look can translate into confidence and energy. I know we have so much life left to live and so much adventure ahead of us. Let’s show the world you’re never too old to have fun and be fierce!
Holiday Outfits for Women over 50
November 30, 2023I LOVE the holidays! And I love adding some extra sparkle and bling to my look to celebrate. Usually I won’t buy a new dress or outfit just for a holiday party. Instead I will take some basic pieces that I already have in my closet and add a little color, texture, or sparkle (or all of the above!).

November 22, 2023What to Wear to Chase Center San Francisco
November 16, 2023My husband and I don’t go out in the evening too often anymore, but recently we ventured to San Francisco Chase Center to see the iconic Jerry Seinfeld do stand up comedy, with Jim Gaffigan opening. When my husband surprised me with the tickets, of course the first thought was “what am I going to wear?”

Styling Southwestern Patterns
November 9, 2023I’m loving southwestern patterns right now. I see so many fabulous coats and cardigan sweaters with cool graphics that have a southwest and/or an Aztec vibe to them.
Here I styled my gray and blush patterned coat with a gray leopard print sweater and snake patterned boots. It sounds awfully busy, I know, but I think it totally works because the color palette is so soft. What do you think?
