As usual, I’m starting my New York Fashion Week coverage with the Son Jung Wan collection, one of my very favorite collections season after season! This season’s collection is titled “Into the Splendor” … a beautiful sentiment for a gorgeous collection.
How dreamy and romantic is this champagne ruffled dress with the silver heeled sandals?!
“Son Jung Wan’s 2020 S/S collection begins from all things that compose splendor. Various types of fabric of the diverse spectrum of colors are combined to maximize the glamor of vintage looks to be reinterpreted in a modern light.”
… quote from Son Jung Wan’s PR team
My feeling when I saw the collection was that Son Jung Wan had added her signature glamorous sparkle to a variety of retro vibes, from romantic dresses that would look right at home in a dreamy castle to Studio 54 bell bottoms. I felt like I was looking at the guests of the most spectacular spring garden party, having the time of their lives, with disco music playing in the background!
Son Jung Wan used a variety of colors: fresh neo mint and opaline green, dazzling cyber yellow, bright and fun pinks and reds, and classic glamorous shades of gold, ivory, and silver. The fabrics were also a cool mix of hard cotton, soft silk, and substantial jacquard, with accents of metallic sparkles and sequins.
As always, let’s let the clothing speak of itself. Here are my very own photos from the spectacular show.
