Sandals into Fall

September 3, 2014

It’s that time of the month again (no, not that) ….  time for the fun and fabulous HOW I WEAR MY style series hosted by Adrienne of The Rich Life on a Budget & Jill of Everything Just So!  This month’s challenge was styling sandals. It was very fun to try to find a slightly more fall-ish way to wear my favorite summer pair.
(Not that we’re actually having anything but summer weather here in California, but I’m *feeling* fall-ish!)
These shoes win hands down for my favorite sandals this summer. I bought these Seychelles gladiators at DSW in the beginning of the season and haven’t stopped wearing them since!
I think the cognac color and the gold rivets transition nicely into fall with this leopard cardigan, gold collar necklace, and leather bag.

Sandals – Seychelles (DSW)
Jeans – Gap Always Skinny
Tank – Old Navy Perfect Tank
Cardigan – Merona (Target)
Collar necklace – Tasha (Nordstroms)
Handbag – Oryany (TJ Maxx)

And please …
why won’t someone invent fabric that dog fur won’t stick to?!

Hope your September is off to a fashionable start, Dolls!

Let’s keep connected for more fashion fun:

What adorable dogs! My cat is always trying to creep into my pictures when I take them inside. He's pretty cute so he steals the show 🙂

Who can compete with a cute dog or cat?!

  • Reply Alexandra Stella September 3, 2014 at 9:27 am

Very stylish Dawn! And I agree, the cognac color is one that transitions well. Like that bag and cardigan with the dark blue jeans.

Love the card, love the sandals…this is absolutely perfect! And do you know how rich we would be if we could invent a dog hair resistant fabric? Until then I just view it as a fashion statement!

    • Reply dawnlucy September 5, 2014 at 3:41 pm

Yes, let's here it for dog fur as a chic accessory!! 🙂

  • Reply Mica T September 3, 2014 at 11:19 am

Your dogs are so cute! 🙂

Love the studded sandals – they are very nice with the denim and leopard print cardi 🙂

Great look! I love those gladiators Dawn, am a big fan of this style of sandal. You did a great job transitioning with the lovely cardi and dark denim with looks fab on you. I love your hair up as well, so stylish. And the big fluffy pup on your lap!!

You look adorable and I sure love that bag! Well, everything in this post! I also have a dog that sheds horrendously!

    • Reply dawnlucy September 5, 2014 at 3:44 pm

Thanks, Joni! Yep, we love them though they shed. Twice a year the husky blows his coat and then it's a tuffs of fur on everything!

  • Reply Monica P September 3, 2014 at 4:54 pm

Fabulous look .. and sure .. wear those sandals as long as you can 😉

Ohhhhh… Such a cute look! I love the chunky heel on those sandals.

    • Reply dawnlucy September 5, 2014 at 3:46 pm

Thanks, I really liked the chunky heels too. Felt kinda retro 60's or something, right?

I just love your handbag! I never find things like that in TK Maxx! You look very Autumnal with your colour scheme, I'm still very much in the Summer frame of mind.

Really lovely outfit, you can't beat a bit of animal print in my opinion and my, oh my, how wonderful is that bag!

Might be easier to invent a trend that makes dog hair an accessory. I'd be so in.
Wear your sandals as long as your toes are warm … I wear mine late into the year here, with only rainy days stopping me. Even then it has to be really wet.
    You look transitionally perfect!

You are ROCKIN' this look, dearest Dawn!! I'm totally salivating over those delicious gladiator sandals (I say wear them as long as you can before the cooler weather starts!)…and that leopard cardi and collar necklace are perfect go-withs!! Two thumbs up!! XOXO

Oh Dawn Lucy! Your doggies are so delicious. So cute. I love both of these posts you connected to Fashion item Friday, and since I already commented earlier on the other one, I am sharing the rest of my thoughts at this post. Those sandals are great on you and you are so lucky that you can wear those this time of year. Yesterday my sock-less flats were a bit too cool and I have to wear some warmer, higher shoes with socks. Utah has funny temps in the Fall. You have to keep your ear to the ground on the sudden changes or watch the nearest device's weather updates (is easier). lol "rub that cute fuzzy head of yours for good luck" HHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAA TOOO funny!!! ♥, Renae

I can see why you've been wearing those sandals so often – love them! Yesterday was 85 here, but today only 63. So I'm all confused about what to wear, and for what season. 🙂
