What I’m Living In – Winter 2024

February 1, 2024

While I might be enjoying the fantasy of latest couture runway shows (Mason Margiela, anyone?), my sartorial choices have been far more ordinary.  These are the staples I’ve been wearing on repeat lately.

So, I’ve really been into buying multiples of my favorite things lately.  When I find something that really fits just right … is chic, comfortable, and flattering, I’m happy to buy more than one color. Anyone else do this? I find that the older I get, the fussier I am about how something fits and feels. AND the happier I am when I find something that passes all my tests!

I have two pairs of Kut from the Kloth Kelsey kick flares (medium blue denim and a washed out black) and they are so flattering and comfortable that I’ve been LIVING in them!

I also have the Franco Sarto Waxton boot in black AND brown, and I’m wearing one or the other most days.  They are the perfect boots with the ankle flares and are comfortable for even a day of teaching.

My go-to tee shirt is from Gap Factory.  For some reason this particular cut fits just right, the V is not too deep and not too shallow.

And I bought a hoodie cardigan sweater from Macy’s in both black and marled charcoal gray from after Christmas sales.  These sweaters are comfortable and affordable teacher staples.

Also, in love with my new Warby Parker Masha prescription sunnies! And these gorgeous Ashton heart earrings and necklace, brand new from Kendra Scott!

So, that’s what I’ve been wearing lately. How about you?  What are you wearing this winter? Are you getting any spring weather yet?  And do you buy multiples when you find something you love? Let us know in the comments below!

ICYMI, here is my latest “coffee adventure” …!

Fun & Fashion,

Dawn Lucy

About the blog: Fashion Should Be Fun is me talking to you, other middle aged women like me who are over 40, but not over fashion.  We still want to look beautiful and stylish.  We still want to have fun with trends.  And we don’t need anyone giving us rules, because we’re all different. We all have our own shapes and bodies, parts we’d like to cover and parts we still don’t mind showing off a bit.  This is a place for me to share my love of fashion with you, style ideas, tips, trends, and inspiration. I know how liking the way we look can translate into confidence and energy. I know we have so much life left to live and so much adventure ahead of us. Let’s show the world you’re never too old to have fun and be fierce!
