Well, for once I didn’t go crazy at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I decided to show miraculous restraint this year and only buy what I really wanted, which ended up being this warm and cozy Halogen cardigan!
Also recently I bought this Stevie Nicks tee on Etsy. Are you a Stevie fan? I’ve been a huge fan since my high school days and I just loved this particular graphic of her.

Ironically I was having lunch with my friends Kim and Heidi when Kim brought up a 5 year old picture of us and I noticed that I was wearing a very similar outfit! Well, I think I might start calling this my Dawn uniform! Take a black and white graphic tee, wear with jeans, add a black blazer or cardigan, and don’t forget a cool bag, chunky jewelry, and some comfortable shoes!
I’d highly recommend every piece I’m wearing here. Love the Stevie tee, the distressed jeans from Chicos are on major sale right now, the modern loafers go with everything, the Warby Parker prescription sunglasses, the Kendra Scott earrings, and the chunky chain. And of course I love my big splurge last summer, my YSL bag! Oh and the Halogen cardigan from the Nordstrom Sale which is very soft and cozy, the perfect length, and with pockets. Available in black, tan, pink, and gray. All links on Shop the Post above!
Do you have a uniform? A type of look that you reach for again and again?
Did you shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? I’d love to hear what you bought and what you think about it!

Hi, I just discovered your blog. How refreshing it is. I’ve been ruffled and puffed so much with fashion I’d almost given up hope. It’s very hot where I live so your outfit idea will have to wait for fall. Yes, this summer my style uniform has been army green, army pants (mostly linen joggers), or a wide leg cropped striped pant with a black or white T-shirt. I’ve been wanting to jump on the platform/lug sole train so I bought platform Birkenstock’s. Do you ever do “ teacher wear” posts. I struggle with looking professional without looking stuffy.
Hi Robyn! I’m so glad to have you here!! Thanks for the inspiration! And yes, I struggle with looking professional and still showing my personal style, and I think that’s a great topic for a post! I’ll be working on that!
You look fabulous and your ‘uniform’ is very cool too. Your hair is so pretty, I love the interesting shade. 8 and half months in to my transition to natural hair. Waaah it takes forever but am looking forward to when it is all done.
Aww thanks so much! I just went back to teaching this week and was so surprised with all the positive feedback I’m getting. Hang in there, Gal!
