Investment Pieces

As I mature, I really appreciate high quality classic items that will last for years.  When I was younger and someone would say to me something like “oh, you’ll be wearing that for years” I would think … “Ew, yuck.  Who wants to be wearing the same thing for years?!”  But now, I understand the beauty of the concept!  I’m starting to think of classic pieces as an investment, something that will look just as rich and beautiful next year as this year.  A well-made jacket is always one of the best investments and Misook has some absolutely gorgeous ones.  On top of being just plain stunning, would you believe Misook’s pieces are machine-washable and wrinkle-free?  I kid you not!

The Brand

Misook is named after the creator Misook Dolittle, who created the brand in 1985 for women who wanted pieces that were sophisticated, but also comfortable.  Misook’s cling-free knits, flattering silhouettes and attention to detail soon brought many customers.  Pieces that look great year after year and can even be machine washed, kept those customers coming back for more.

My Picks

The Misook team challenged me to pick my favorite pieces and here’s what I fell in love with …

The first jacket that caught my eye was this cherry red Tweed Jacket with Trim.  I love the trendy ombre effect with the classic tweed.  And of course black, camel, and red are such wardrobe staples that this jacket can be worn with many things.  I love the below hip length as well.  And wouldn’t a fabulous red jacket be festive for all your holiday season gatherings?

The next jacket to catch my attention was this sharp Herringbone Stitch Jacket in a beautiful copper and black color combination. I love a good chevron print and the zipper pocket details made this classic jacket look so on point. This outfit is pure class.

I have to say my very favorite of them all is this stunning Tweed Jacket with Studs.  This elegant jacket is the perfect combination of classic and trendy.  The goldtone stud details add a bit of edge to the classic tweed look.  Wouldn’t this jacket look professional at the office, trendy with jeans, and chic thrown over a little black dress for a party or date?

Versatile Basics to Mix and Match

With a special jacket as the star, you can keep your other pieces simple. I’d suggest either the Black Scoop Neck Tank or Cherry Red Tank.

And loving both of these classic black pants: Slim Leg Pant and Black Legging with Zipper Detail at Hem.
