Pre-Mixed Patterns & Fun Fashion Friday Link Up!

February 26, 2015
Do you love the cool look of pattern mixing but aren’t sure if you’re doing it right or you just don’t have the time to bother with it?  This top is the perfect solution!  The patterns are pre-mixed!  Stripes on the front with a leopard herringbone pattern on the back. Love this!  Of course like most style bloggers, I’m happy to mix patterns on my own, but I still love this top!
And hey, I finally found some boyfriend jeans I really like.
Yay Old Navy!

Outfit details:
Mixed pattern top –  Charlotte Tarantola (Details Willow Glen)
(exact sweater here, two other cute sweaters here & here)
Distressed boyfriend jeans – Old Navy
Taupe suede booties – Vince Camuto (cute option)
Red leather bag – London Fog (similar)
Moto – Lucky Brand
Watch – Movado
Bracelet – J Crew

Here are a few of my favs from last week …

Calypso St. Barth Event

February 22, 2015
This weekend I spent one lovely evening with Rommellyn of The Stunning Post at her event at Calypso St. Barth.  I’m always happy for girl time and shopping.  Plus I hadn’t been to the Calypso St. Barth boutique at Santana Row and was excited to check it out.

The gorgeous Rommellyn is a sweetheart and a wonderful hostess.

So many lovely things and beautiful displays at the store.
And would you believe that the manager of the store, Leslie, was a former student of mine?  How fun is that? We remembered each other after almost 20 years!

All the Calypso gals were sweet, adorable, and helpful.

And I never miss a chance for a make-up tutorial.  Here the lovely Madeline of 100% Pure cosmetics is picking out a blush shade for me.  (I’m loving my delicious 100% Pure Vanilla Bean hand cream!)

Then it was time to try on some clothes!

Here’s the beautiful Nicole (contributor to The Stunning Post) looking like a chic ballerina in this pretty dress.

I tried on this velvet embroidered tunic.  It was luxe and beautiful, but not the most flattering shape on me and a little fancy for my lifestyle.

Rommellyn suggested I try on this pretty cotton maxi skirt with beautiful stitching and embellished tassels.  It was a hit!  And on sale!

And I couldn’t resist these snakeskin flip flops!
(And gee, I can even look posh carrying them on the beach in this cute little sandal bag.)

A very fun night and I’m so pleased with my purchases!

Like the outfit I wore?  Details here.

Middle-aged Goldilocks & Fun Fashion Friday Link Up!

February 18, 2015
I felt a bit like Goldilocks recently looking for a chambray shirt. The shirt was either too big, too small, too dark, too light, too short, too stiff, or too boxy.  So this middle-aged Goldilocks was thrilled to finally find this shirt that was just right!  It’s Cloth and Stone (an Anthropologie brand) and I found it at Crossroads Trading, a store with new and gently used clothing to buy, sell, or trade.

It was the perfect color and length for me and so soft too.  Isn’t the back detail cute?

Outfit details:
Jeans – Gap Always Skinny
Plain white tee – Old Navy
Shooties – Madden Girl
Black straw bag – Vintage
Necklace – Lucky Brand
Earrings – Nordstrom Rack
Sunglasses – Readers.com

Denim with denim? Of course!  We all know those old rules no longer apply!

And this little guy wanted to come see what Mommy was up to.

Sending out a huge thanks to everyone who has been participating in FUN FASHION FRIDAY! I’m having tons of fun and I hope everyone else is too!

Here are a few of my favorite Valentine’s Day inspired looks from last week …

Debbie of Fashion Fairy Dust is looking hip and chic in her plaid sweatshirt and leather skirt.

Alice of Happiness at Mid-life is a feminine romantic vision in pretty polka dots.

How adorable is Chioma of Chioma’s Evolution of Style in her Barbie pink skirt and denim jacket?

Miriam of Farm Girl outdid herself this week with this precious Valentine’s Day look.  Love those red tights!

Laura of I Do DeClaire looks fabulous in this cozy red sweater and those great pattern pixie pants!

Okay Dolls, time to party …

Alice Cooper’s Eyes & FUN FASHION FRIDAY link up!

February 13, 2015
Do you buy souvenir tshirts and never wear them? I’m so guilty of this … on vacation, at a concert … any excuse to shop!
So I decided to add a little edge to my outfit and wear this Alice Cooper shirt that I picked up at his concert this summer.

I love that it’s just black and white.  And I love the cool graphic Alice Cooper eyes.   I just wish eyes were placed somewhere else. I can’t wear this tee without feel like everyone is starting at my “girls” … and to make it worse, my “girls” are staring right back!

Outfit details:
Leopard coat – BB Dakota (Details Boutique in Willow Glen)
Sneakers – Converse
Always Skinny jeans – Gap
Sunnies – Ralph Lauren
Alice Cooper tee – Alice Cooper concert!

Here’s a few of my fabulous favs from last week …

Glenda of So What to Twenty is wearing a cool graphic shirt from Chaos NY, looking sporty and effortlessly chic.

I love when a fashion risk totally works, and I think these hot pink socks are fun and fabulous!  And who looks that cute in BF jeans?  Bravo, Trina of Tea Time with Trina!

Here’s another lovely lady looking adorable in BF jeans.  How pretty is that beautiful tweed blazer, especially with that gorgeous red hair?  Loving Jess of Elegantly Dressed and Stylish!

The tweeds seemed to steal my heart this week … also loving Nora’s (Jacket Society) look head to toe!  The structured blazer looks so hip with the layered necklaces and those stunning shoes!

And last, but never ever least, Rachel of Rachel the Hat is looking so pretty and on point in these glam floral trousers.

What a bunch of gorgeous dolls!

Time to link up, my lovelies … and wishing you all a lucky Friday the 13th and a romantic Valentine’s Day!

Whole Body Beauty

February 10, 2015
I was lucky enough to get invited to the Whole Foods/Whole Body beauty event called Make up, Break up!

I’ve been wanting to try some new products and what a perfectly fun way to do that!

So great to mix and mingle with local bloggers. Here I am with Rommelyn from The Stunning Post (just met this sweet beauty) and Kim of Northern California Style (one of my besties for decades!).
I love my girl time!

Along with amazing beauty products, there was a beautiful spread of tasty and healthy treats.

I got my hair and make up done!
(Thanks, Shana and Joann!)

And we all got to make our own natural lip scrub!

Do we look like natural beauties?!  With some natural help?!

My favorite products of the night were …

Giovanni hair care products …
Love their “LA Hold; Ultra Sleek Flat Iron Mist”!

And the Mineral Fusion line …

Their fabulous lip color “Adorn” proves that natural can certainly be glamorous!

Thanks so much to the welcoming Whole Body staff for the fun night and the amazing goody bags!

Have you checked out your local Whole Foods for cosmetics, skin care, and hair care?  The selection is amazing and they only carry products you can feel really good about using.

Don’t forget to link up for FUN FASHION FRIDAY this Friday and every Friday!
