My adorable friend Lynn and I celebrated another school year in the books with a super fun shopping day!
One of the first stores we hit up was Loft and we loved these three cute dresses. Can you believe they are all on sale right now?

Shop these Dresses:
Lynn and I thought it would be fun to try on the same dresses, even though we’re different heights, shapes and sizes. Lynn is 5’4″ and an apple shape and I’m 5’7″ and a pear.
The lovely peasant style floral dress was so fresh and pretty! Lynn is wearing a petite and I’m wearing a standard size. You can wear the shoulder up for a daytime look and then pull the shoulders down for an evening or vacation look.
The poplin striped dress was so summery and ladylike, but it did surprise us with a little peek-a-boo cut-out at the waist. We weren’t too happy about that, but once we had the dresses on, you can’t tell at all. (See the video below.) I think it’s just so that from the front it looks like a skirt and a shirt tied at the waist. Again, Lynn is wearing a petite size and I’m wearing a regular.
This palm tree print spaghetti strap dress was a bit out of our comfort zone, but it was too cute not to try. And we both decided that if we had a tropical vacation coming up, it would definitely be going with us! This dress didn’t come in a petite, but I think the length seems to work on both of us, looking like a midi dress on me and a maxi on Lynn. The dress was a little snug around my hips and a little snug around Lynn’s chest/back, but that’s typical for pears and apples.

Do you like us trying on the same outfits to see how things look on different shapes and sizes? Let me know in the comments, and I will see if I can talk Lynn into modeling again with me!

About the blog: Fashion Should Be Fun is me talking to you, other middle aged women like me who are over 40, but not over fashion. We still want to look beautiful and stylish. We still want to have fun with trends. And we don’t need anyone giving us rules, because we’re all different. We all have our own shapes and bodies, parts we’d like to cover and parts we still don’t mind showing off a bit. This is a place for me to share my love of fashion with you, style ideas, tips, trends, and inspiration. I know how liking the way we look can translate into confidence and energy. I know we have so much life left to live and so much adventure ahead of us. Let’s show the world you’re never too old to have fun and be fierce!
