Happy 2016, Dolls!

I’m starting the year with a closet clean out and assessing what I need for the new year.

I’ve noticed that I need a few more building block wardrobe basics in my closet, so I’m on the hunt for a few things.

To start I just ordered:

Meanwhile, here’s a look at a few of my wardrobe workhorses in my closet right now.

I’ve had this puffer vest for years and still love it. A black v-neck sweater is a wardrobe staple for sure. I also love my distressed jeans. A nice way to add some casual cool to a look without exposing more than maybe a knee cap!
All these things are ancient, but here’s a few options:

I’m also wearing my two favorite recent investment pieces: my Marc by Marc Jacobs Too Hot To Handle Tote and Banana Republic Tall Vivienne Boots.

On top of that, I’m sporting some fingerless gloves to join in the How I Wear My fun!

I think we must all be thinking alike, in the clean up-clean out mode. Isn't it funny how when we clean out we tend to buy more (funny way we fashionista's think). You're back to basic look is perfection in my book. Nice bag you bought, now that's what I call a great long term investment piece.

I really need to weed out some items from my closet and figure out which pieces are real keepers. Always a nice thing to do at the beginning of the year. I love those boots! I have a black v-neck sweater that I love, too!
