As my regular followers know, my Mexico vacation got canceled and instead the hubby and I decided on an RV road trip through Northern California to Ashland, Oregon. It was super fun, and with the crazy winter storms, quite an adventure. I’m working on a What to Wear for a Winter Road Trip post, but in the meantime, here are a few shots of the pretty little town of Ashland and some recommendations if you find yourself there.
Ashland, Oregon is famous for it’s Oregon Shakespeare Festival. I would love to go back one day soon and see a Shakespeare play performed! But this time around, it was a last minute trip and we only stayed overnight.
With snowy weather, we decided to forego the RV camping, and we stayed in a gorgeous historic hotel, called Ashland Springs.
Ashland has such a cute little downtown, with antique architecture and pretty old Victorian homes. There’s also a beautiful park called Lithia Park and a babbling creek lined with cafes. The weather definitely prevented creek-side dining al fresco, but we still had a wonderful lunch at Louie’s Bar and Grill and a yummy dinner at Billy’s Fried Chicken.
If you’re in Ashland, I need to stop at the adorable Handlebar shop, which functions as a bike repair along with a cafe. I got a wonderful cappuccino there and the best pumpkin coffee cake that I’ve ever had!
I also loved seeing all the book stores in Ashland! I miss the days of browsing through book stores.
