What to Wear to a Holiday Party Over 40 with Lynn Ritchie!

November 14, 2016

Dressing for a holiday party over 40 can be a bit tricky, right Ladies? Usually we want look sparkly and special, but not overdone.  We want to look a bit sexy, but also appropriate and sophisticated.  And we want to look expensive, but don’t want to waste our money on something we’ll never wear again.  And last but not least, we don’t want to have the exact same dress as someone else at the party.   I seriously think I’ve found the answer to holiday dressing over 40 at Lynn Ritchie!dsc_0045

I feel so super glam and fabulous in this Lynn Ritchie sequined pencil skirt and sequined cropped jacket.  The quality is exceptional and I feel like a million bucks!

I loved styling each piece separately as well!  Here I’m making the skirt less dressy by adding boots and an oversized sweater.  How often do you find holiday separates that you can wear so many ways?

And even more fun, I wore the jacket with stripes, cropped flares, and trendy booties for a casual and funky outfit.  Is it just me, or did I channel some serious Gwen Stefani for this look?!

I know this is supposed to be all about the outfit, dearest Dawn…but OMG!! Your new super-blonde ‘do is STUNNING!! So striking with the ruby red lippy and those party-ready sequinned separates…which – I totally agree! – are the perfect choice for getting you through the entire holiday season in style!! Between the pencil skirt and the bomber jacket, you can mix and match to your heart’s sparkly content…but when you wear them both together?? WOW!! XOXO

beautiful! Honestly, I’m shocked you’re 50. You look incredible. I totally think older women are still smoking hot and some of you ladies have the most inspiring fashion sense! I’m 27 and I feel like I need to up my game now haha. Thanks for the inspiration!

I’m beginning to feel like the elephant in the room now. When I shop, I honestly never think of any of those things you pointed out, Dawn, like not wanting to look overdone, and striking a balance between sexy, sophisticated and appropriate. To be quite honest, if I see something I like, I just go for it. Now I’m wondering if all those stares were of horror instead of envy GRIN

p/s I love the jacket with jeans!!!

    • Reply Dawn Lucy November 17, 2016 at 4:17 am

Oh they were envy! You rock everything you wear, Sheela! I should’ve made it clear that these are the things I think about and no one need follow suit!
