Review: Ruti’s Ultimate Barrel Leg Jeans 2.0

February 10, 2026

I’m jumping on the barrel leg jeans trend and I’m so surprised how much I love them! Surprisingly flattering and definitely cool!

The designer Ruti always makes just the coolest things! I’ve been a fan for years!

Ruti’s take on the barrel leg trend is just delightful .. playful, yet flattering. The stretch makes them oh-so-comfortable. Available in several washes, and I’m modeling the Indigo shade.

Also wearing, a Lintico Wrap Sweater, yummy Inez Caro suede booties, a plaid oversize blazer (old, but here’s a modern classic) and carrying one of my favorite bags ever, the Strathberry Midi Tote. My Warby Parker shades and a chunky necklace finishes off the look.

Want to see more Ruti? Read about when I modeled for Ruti in 2022 and this post about dressing edgy over 50, which features a fabulous Ruti skirt.

Also on the blog lately, this review on a leather handwoven satchel bag and a review on a luxe and warm cashmere sweater.

And coming soon, fabulous sandals for spring!

About the blog: Fashion Should Be Fun is me talking to you, other middle aged women like me who are over 40, but not over fashion.  We still want to look beautiful and stylish.  We still want to have fun with trends.  And we don’t need anyone giving us rules, because we’re all different. We all have our own shapes and bodies, parts we’d like to cover and parts we still don’t mind showing off a bit.  This is a place for me to share my love of fashion with you, style ideas, tips, trends, and inspiration. I know how liking the way we look can translate into confidence and energy. I know we have so much life left to live and so much adventure ahead of us. Let’s show the world you’re never too old to have fun and be fierce!
