Nosey Posey & Fun Fashion Friday Link Up

April 30, 2015
Since I bought three things with Lilly Pulitzer’s Nosey Posey print, I decided, hey what the heck … let’s throw it all on at once and see what happens.

Nosey Posey Lilly Putlizer print, spring look, spring 2015 style trends, Target style

Though I love each piece separately, I probably won’t regularly wear all three together.  It’s a little too matchy matchy for me, but it looked cuter than I thought it would.  And I felt very bright and spring-y!

Loving Natalia of In the Writer’s Closet in this bright poppy red with that stylish leopard pencil skirt.

One Dress, Three Ways

April 27, 2015
It’s no secret that I’m a fan of Target/designer collaborations, so when I saw this Issac Mizrahi for Target dress at the flea market in my size and in perfect condition, I grabbed it.  And can I just add it cost less than my latte that day?

I thought it would be fun to try to style it for a party, for work, and for the weekend, so this is what I came up with.

Party look:

Outfit Details & Shopping Ideas

Red pumps – BCBG Paris
Snakeskin clutch – thrifted vintage

The Fab 40’s: Jumpsuits!

April 20, 2015

This month’s theme for The Fab 40’s was … JUMPSUITS!

But before we jump right in, I wanted to say a big thanks to everyone who expressed interest in joining our little group. We were so flattered and were tempted to open it up to everyone, but then we felt a bit overwhelmed at the organizing involved and decided to keep it small and manageable. I hope everyone understands.  We know there are so many great 40-something fashion blogs out there and we totally support all of you!  Hurrah for all of us who keep showing the world how totally FAB 40 can be!

Now let’s jump into jumpsuits!
I haven’t had a jumpsuit since high school, so shopping for one now was an adventure. I didn’t want to spend too much on this trendy look so I hit up Fovever 21 and got this fun jumpsuit.  I ended up actually loving it. What do you think, Dolls?

It’s strapless, but I doubt I’ll actually wear it that way.  Well, maybe beachside!
I had planned to add one of my crochet cardigans for a totally boho look but it just ended up looking shapeless.  I thought this tailored cropped jacket looked more pulled together.

Outfit details & Shopping Ideas:

Jumpsuit – F21 (same)
Shoes – Michael Shannon
Blazer – H&M
Necklace – Kohls
Bag – Carlos Santana

Let’s see what the other Fab 40’s Fashionistas came up with this month …

Ann of Kremb de la Kremb is also rocking a F21 jumpsuit!  Maybe we’re not forever 21, but we ARE forever fab!

Sunnies: Target
Earrings: Topshop
Necklace: market in Rishikesh
Jumpsuit: Forever 21
Clutch: market in Boracay
Boots – Steve Madden

Jane of My Midlife Fashion looks so pretty in her black jumpsuit.  Great jacket too, Jane!

Jumpsuit – Wallis
Jacket – Mango
Necklace – bought in Majorca
Bracelets – Ashiana
Shoes – New Look
How totally chic is Dixie of Inside Outer Style in this denim jumpsuit with leopard accessories?!

Jumper: Zara

Shoes: Vince Camuto

Belt: Jcrew

Cutch: Thrifted

Necklace: Mango

Sunnies: Betsy Johnson

Sheela of Sheela Writes is having fun and looking adorable in what she calls her flying squirrel jumpsuit!

Jumpsuit – Indie label
Shoes – Wild Diva
Rings – Poshmark
Palm Cuff – Jenny Bird

Thanks for stopping by our little monthly celebration of being 40-something and fab!

Our kudos to all the ladies showing the world how fabulous each and every decade can be!

Lilly Pulitzer for Target Review!

April 19, 2015
Another Target designer collaboration, another cray cray Sunday morning of shopping fun!

And what a collection of summery fun!
Big kudos to Target & Lilly Pulitzer for including plus sizes.  Personally, I think every collection should.

Lilly Pulitzer for Target – be warned, there’s a lot sold out already.

And sure I got a little carried away! Everything was so bright, Palm Beach-y, and fun! Here’s my haul ….

Part of the fun for me is getting there early and chatting with the other fashionistas in line.  Here we are anxiously waiting and peering through the sliding door!

This first thing I ran for was this blue tote which I wanted more than anything and it was sold out online. My Target only had 2 of each color, so being first in line really paid off.

The purse rack at 8:03 …

The selection at my store was a bit disappointing but I certainly found more than enough to make me very happy!

Dressing room selfies …

This pretty strapless dress was very nice fabric and even had a built in shelf bra.

Side note:
I know some people complain about the quality of the Target/designer collaborations, but I’ve always been pleased. I think it’s just a matter of taming your expectations. Of course you’re not going to get full designer quality.  What are you going to get is decent quality, designer style, and Target prices!  Hello?  Good enough for me!

This jumpsuit was fun …

But I liked the palazzo pants even better …

I didn’t even take the time to button up this cute lace top!  I felt bad
because this cute young gal really wanted the small size too and I got there first.  I really tried not to like it too much so she could have it, but I couldn’t help myself.  It came home with me.

a

Also loved this gauze tunic. I really wanted the orange but our store only had the blue and hey, it matched my tote I was so proud of getting!

I also came home with this V-neck floral top. This is an XS in the picture and too tight, so I went up to the S.  (Sizes seemed true to expectation. I ended up with small in everything.)

Couldn’t you die how cute this pineapple zipper is?

The sheath dresses have that cute zipper too!

I also got flip flops and scarves!  Very fun shopping day for me!  How did you dolls do?  What did you think of the collection?
You’ll definitely be seeing quite a few Lilly Pulitzer outfit posts from me soon!

White Jeans & Fun Fashion Friday Link Up Party!

April 16, 2015
As a pear-shape, I’ve always stayed away from light colored pants.  But I keep seeing you dolls rocking your white jeans (and it’s the next HIWM challenge) so I figured it was time to step out of my comfort zone and give some white jeans a try!

A few hints if you’re curvy on the bottom too and shopping for white jeans …

Hint #1 Tame your expectations. These will never be your go-to black pants or your flattering dark wash jeans.

Hint #2 Don’t try on anything in a junior store or junior sizes, or very light weight super stretchy fabric. Just trust me.

Hint #3 Prepare to try on a lot of pants that day. Of course if you start where I stopped, you might be luckier. I ended up with The Loft Curvy Straight Leg Jean.
What do you think?

Wore this casual look on a day trip to Carmel with the hubby.

Kushyfoot Review!

April 13, 2015
Kushyfoot is a hosiery company dedicated to making fashion more comfortable. That’s a mission statement that I can definitely get behind! They sent me a delightful package of Spring Essentials to try out.

One of my favorite ideas is Kushyfoot’s Flats To Go!  Super light and foldable or rollable flats to carry with you when you’re sporting your most impractical clicks.

Just stick these life savers in your purse and put them on when your feet just can’t take those heels for a minute longer!

Check out their other styles too, including snake print and leopard.

Kushyfoot also has foot and toe covers for any type of shoes a fashionista can think of (and we can think of a lot, right?)

Here’s the genius foot covers for peep toe shoes:

And these pretty toe covers solve the tricky problem of slingbacks.  Just line up transparent strap with your shoe strap!

The product that I’ll probably wear the most is Kushyfoot’s knee highs with cotton soles. They just look like pretty silky hose …

But check out this soft padded cotton sole!  A teacher could walk around in those all day!

And all the world sees is this … pretty shoes & pretty hose.

Shop Kushyfoot and enjoy those cute spring heels in comfort and style, Dolls.
