This is a special Fab 40’s post for me. This will be the end of my 40’s! I can’t believe it. Next month, I’ll be turning that magic special number 50! Expect a whole post (or ten) about that, but today it’s all about goodbye to my 40’s.
And this month the Fab 40’s picked boho for a theme. I couldn’t be happier about that! I think it’s the perfect swan song for me.
My 40’s brought me so many amazing gifts: My wonderful love and husband, Shannon, a beautiful home in a neighborhood I’ve always dreamed about, my dear spoiled rotten fur babies, and of course the best hobby ever, blogging. And blogging has lead to connecting with all of you sweet readers.
I wish I could say my 40’s were all sparkles and happiness, but I lost both my mom and dad. The depth of that pain was rocked me to the core. I also lost a sweet little kitty. At least I’m fortunate enough to have so many wonderful memories of all of them to keep my company through the years.
Enough serious stuff. Let’s have fun and talk some fashion …
My readers all know that I love the boho vibe. When I first thought of starting a blog, one name that went though my mind was “Boho Chic … It’s Not an Oxymoron!” Hee. Chalk it up to a childhood spent in patched bell bottoms, suede clogs, and prairie dresses.

First of all, you look great for your age. I absolutely love this outfit and is something I would wear head to toe, not just the bohemian but also the whole 70s part – each item is 70s inspired! All the crew looks amazing this week. You know how much I love a Bohemian Look. I did an entire week of Boho looks, last week. I love Ann's, Diane's and Jennie's outfits, too. =)
Happy Memorial Day! I did a different, fun post today! 😉
Farewell Dawn Lucy. May your 50's involve much less "serious stuff" and much more fun. My neighbour once told me that your 50's is a time to throw caution to the wind, and grab life with both hands. Wise words. She is in her late 70's and still fabulous. Have fun!! XXX Sam FakeFabulous.com
Like you I grew up loving all things boho even before we knew to call it boho. Love your spin on it as well as all the other ladies. New adventures await you in your 50s.
How can it be? Are you sure you're not turning 40? Or maybe even 35? You are fabulous beyond measure my friend! Your style, your sweetness, and your positive outlook on life. You just radiate beauty from the inside out and I'm happy to know you. LOVE this outfit!!
What a fabulous post, Dawn Lucy! The serious stuff and the fun stuff. You are going to be even more fabulous in your 50's! You look amazing in this outfit and now I want it! All of it! Every single piece…to wear tomorrow! Cheers to the fabulous 40's and let's go 50's!
The only good thing about the bad things, is for me, it makes me appreciate the good things more (did that make any sense). So happy wonderful 50th—you look fantastic! jodie http://www.jtouchofstyle.com

I have another year until I say goodbye but reading your post makes me think it might be a bit sad. I've actually always imagined it as saying Hello to my 50's! It is a milestone though and probably a good time to take stock in the good, the bad, the memories and the future plans. You've got me thinking….
happy Birthday Dawn!! Big celebrations! I love these looks all of them, and boy, Anne knows how to DIY , I am not crafty! A lovely tribute to the fab 40s. Great clogs and I am looking for a pair of those fashionable kick crops, you look FAB! jess xx http://www.elegantlydressedandstylish.com
