Soma Apparel (& Link Up)

August 16, 2018

You already know how crazy I am over Soma pajamas and Soma bras, but did you know Soma makes clothes to wear out and about too?  I’m in comfort heaven!

Did you ever notice how often I talk about comfort?   What can I say? I’m a gal who loves to feel good, along with looking good.  Sure we suffer some for beauty (eye brow threading anyone?), but if it’s not necessary I don’t like to add to my discomfort.  I’m all about enjoying life and having a positive attitude, which is much easier when you’re comfortable! Am I right?

Soma comfortable dress, pretty floral maxi dress

This post is a collaboration with Soma. All thoughts and opinions are all my own as always.

Soma Intimates brings that pajama softness and comfort sensibility to their apparel.  Everything is soft, wearable, and just oh so comfortable!

Soma Soft Jersey Surplice Neckline Sleeveless Maxi Dress

I fell in love with this beautiful black/gray/white floral print.  Isn’t it lovely? The dress is heavenly soft and very flattering.  I love the wrap style top with the extra modesty panel.  Perfect with heels for a night out or with sandals for a more casual look. I’m 5’7″ and the length is perfect, so if you’re shorter, you might want to hem this style. Or try a different length. And oh yeah, and it has pockets! Score!

French Terry Everyday Wrap

This wrap is the perfect little throw-over-everything cardigan. You’re going to be seeing it on me again soon … and probably often! Versatile and comfortable, this wrap had a flattering drape and nice lightweight feel.

My pick from last week’s link up is the lovely Emma of Style Splash in this this flattering black and white dress with pops of red.

How have all my dolls been this week?  Whew, what a week for me!  The first week back to school  is always a tough transition.  My mind needs to get back in the game. And my body needs to remember when it’s allowed to eat and go to the bathroom!  But even with all the adjustments, the school year is off to a good start!

I still can’t believe New York fashion week is only a few weeks away!  Please let me know in the comments or with an email or DM what type of fashion week coverage you enjoy the most! I love getting feedback from my readers.

And speaking of NYFW, I’ll be traveling in comfort thanks to another Soma apparel outfit, so keep an eye out for that!

And in case you missed it, be sure to check out this funky weekend look!

Okay my dolls …. Weekend,  HERE WE COME!

Aren’t dresses with pockets always da bomb, dearest Dawn?! And of course you know that I love, love LOVE me a fabulous black and white look…which makes your floral frock twice as nice!! 😀 I can’t believe that it’s already “back to school” time for you, though; I’ll bet it feels like your summer holiday flew by ridiculously quickly!! At least there’s always the weekend to look forward to; Robin and I have certainly been squeezing every last drop out of the season with as many drives in our convertible as we can possibly fit in!! XOXO

    • Reply Dawn Lucy August 17, 2018 at 9:11 am

Yes, summer flew by WAY too fast! Enjoy your convertible, Doll! That sounds FAB.

I so agree with you about comfort. I think being uncomfortable is so ageing anyway! I’m new to Soma but your dress is lovely, you look really great! xx

    • Reply Dawn Lucy August 17, 2018 at 9:10 am

Thanks, Maria. Soma is the master of comfort! Living in their bras! 🙂

You look beautiful! No matter how gorgeous a piece is, one doesn’t really look good in it if it’s uncomfortable because one tends to look uncomfortable or stressed. Comfort has to be there too.

    • Reply Dawn Lucy August 17, 2018 at 9:08 am

      TOTALLY agree, Fonda! 🙂

Beautiful maxi. It’s great in black and white so it’ll carry into fall.

  • Reply Cheryl Shops August 17, 2018 at 11:57 am

I agree that if you don’t feel good—i.e. you’re not comfortable—you won’t look good. I’m glad this maxi is as comfortable as it is stylish!

You are so gorgeous! Love your look! That maxi is so pretty! Reminds me of their Bliss Knit Cross Front Maxi Dress in Drawn Floral Black, style 570221959, which I loved but didn’t get. Have you tried any of their Maggy London selections? I got the Bliss Knit Twist Waist Maxi Dress in Dark Harbour, style 570227640, which I love. That dark teal color is amazing. The challenge is getting a bra to fit nicely under the cross back straps. I bought the Embraceable Full Coverage Lace Trim Wild Aster, style 2570224555. It was a cross back bra and the straps matched perfectly in the back, but the wide lace over the shoulders peeked out from under the straps, which I left as a deliberate choice. What do you think about visible bra straps under strappy tops?
