Back-to-School Wardrobe for Teachers with Chico’s

August 5, 2018

That old school bell is ringing again, fellow teachers!  Time to get ready for a brand new school year.  This year let’s give ourselves wardrobe pieces that work as hard as we do AND make us feel like a million bucks.

back to school wardrobe for teachers

I reached out to Chico’s to collaborate on some Back-to-School inspiration, because I love their versatile separates.  With just a few fresh new fall pieces and some favorite Chico’s staples, I was able to make a week’s worth of fabulous looks!

This post is a collaboration with Chico’s. All opinions are all my own.

What does a teacher look for in her Back-to-School wardrobe?

*First and foremost, the outfits must make us feel confident and beautiful of course!

*Next, everything must be comfortable.  No teacher has time for restrictive clothing.

*Of course a teacher always prefers machine-washable and wrinkle-free items, because who has the time to iron or make constant trips to the dry cleaners?

*Also for the first couple of months, most of us will have cool mornings with hot afternoons, and possibly cold air conditioning as well.  Layers are a plus!

*And on our teachers’ budgets we need pieces that will mix and match and look great wear after wear, wash after wash.

All items in this post meet that criteria!

My New Pieces

Long Utility Jacket in Rich Paprika

This jacket is lightweight and versatile. It can be worn as a jacket or actually as a blouse.  And this “Rich Paprika” color is amazingly gorgeous!  Loving the flattering little details like the drawstring waist, the fun pockets, the cute gold rivets, and the roll tab sleeves. Machine washable to boot!

Pinstriped Ponte Tapered Ankle Pants

The perfect versatile trouser for a professional wardrobe.  The classic pinstripes are very on trend right now, though they’ll never go out of style. On top the that, the pants are comfortable, flattering, and machine washable.

Chico’s Reversible Solid-Chevron Tank

Two tops in one!  Actually … four!  You can wear this tank on both sides and have either the scoop or the V-neck in front.  One side is a pretty pale green lace and other side has a cool chevron print in many shades of fall.  Machine washable.

Mixed-Metal Coin Drop Chandelier Earrings

I have a thing for mixed metal jewelry … anyone else?  I know it’s no longer taboo to mix gold and silver jewelry, but I always think it looks better when there’s one mixed metal piece pulling the look all together.  These earrings are perfect … lightweight and pretty!

Wardrobe Staples

So Slimming Brigette Ankle Pants

My regular readers know I’m a huge fan of this pant!  Oh so slimming … the name says it all!  I also have the ankle pants in blue and the same style in a cropped length, but my black ankle pants are my OMG-can’t-live-withouts! On top of all that, they are machine washable, of course!

Travelers Essential Reversible Tank

This tank can be worn with the higher or lower scoop neck in  front.  It never wrinkles and looks fabulous wash after wash. This is another can’t-live-without piece! Machine washable and oh so packable!

Spring Favorites

These two items are from the fun Chico’s spring collection.  Bonus tip: now on major sale!

Silver Tone Circlet-Y Necklace

Pretty chunky silver necklace with an architectural flair.

Palm-Embroidered Girlfriend Ankle Jeans

Comfortable, slimming jeans with fun embroidery details. Machine washable.

Let’s take a look at all the mixing and matching possibilities ….

I love that colourful utility jacket so much! I’ve never seen one that’s not kahia or olive, but it looks great in that shade and perfect on you. Such a fun piece! 🙂

Hope that you are having a great weekend 🙂 We had a quiet one as we are all a little unwell from another round of winter bugs!

That red is such a great one for Autumn! Love all your looks. I bet your students appreciate a trendy teacher. My favourite teacher as a kid was a French teacher – she always wore chic clothes – maybe if I concentrated more on what she said, I would be able to speak some French haha xx
