For a fashionista, New York Fashion Week is like Christmas morning, birthday cake, and trip to Disneyland all rolled into one! It’s a chance to really experience the magic of fashion, the art and performance of it … and to see other people, from all over the world, all who love fashion just as much as you do.
I know bloggers get ribbed a bit for being a season ahead … (like talking spring trends in January!), but remember the designers are much further ahead than that. This February they will be showing collections for Fall/Winter 2019/2020!
This lovely sketch is courtesy of Son Jung Wan and gives a little hint of what’s to come down the runway in a couple of weeks. Son Jung Wan is always one of my very VERY favorite shows. She always designs visions of glamour, punctuated with hints of whimsy. I dream of wearing a Son Jung Wan piece some day!
Son Jung Wan’s PR team gave me this little hint about the Fall/Winter 2019 collection: this collection is an unconventional “mix of faux fur, checkered prints, flowered prints, embroidered fabrics, sequins, velvet, that have bold color to create a romantic mood full of playfulness.” Doesn’t it sound like a delightful collection?
I was also lucky enough to get invited to Son Jung Wan’s Spring/Summer 2019 show, as well as the Fall/Winter 2018 show, so be sure to check out those posts if you missed them.
…
Now with two weeks until NYFW begins, the invitations to shows start to roll in, though it’s possible to get invited even at the last minute. The whole process definitely keeps us bloggers on pins and needles of anticipation and excitement!
Planning what to wear to fashion week is always part of the fun. I’m pretty sure I have four outfits ready to go, but there’s always last minute changes as packages start to arrive. The piece I’m most excited about is coming in the mail this week. Here’s a sneak peek preview:
Bianca Zidik Designing My Coat!
This is the only peek that I’ve gotten of the finished product too! Bianca likes to keep me in suspense! Be sure to check out Bianca’s website when you get a chance. She’s SUPER fabulous! Adore her and her style.
As I prep for one of my favorite weeks of the year (the other being September’s NYFW of course), please let me know what kind of coverage you like the best. Do you like fashion week diaries, so that you feel like you’re on the adventure along with me? Do you want critiques of the collections? Trend reports? Blogger gossip?! Before I went to NYFW myself I lived vicariously through the bloggers I followed and I’m more than happy to do the best I can to let you live the experience through me as well!
