Custo Barcelona was a spirited show with luxe activewear in a variety of fun patterns and colors .
Custo Barcelona is the Spanish label started by Custo Dalmau and his brother David. The brand started out with tops and t-shirts inspired by California surfers and then expanded into a full line of women’s and men’s clothing.
This ss18 Custo Barcelona collection is called Call Me Tomorrow and ” features innovative experimentations with fabric and design.” Bold colors like yellow, fucshia, and orange are mixrd with black and white and then blended with iridescent metalic shimmer for a vibrant look with lots of visual interest. The women’s dresses feature on-trend asymmetrical hems and draping and pleats. The men’s designs echo the feel of the women’s clothing, with an emphasis on comfortable and oversized silhouettes with metallic embellishments.
All photos are mine from the show.
I was happy to see the continued return of the “fanny pack” or belt bag in this collection! Even though the fanny pack had it’s day as the epitome of tacky, I’m still a believer in the practical design if done well!
Check out the Custo Barcelona website. You can also shop Custo through Yoox, which is getting to be one of my fav fashion shopping sites.
