Shopping is always one of my favorite activities and that’s true on vacation as well! I love to walk around a new town and explore, keeping an eye out for shops, restaurants, art galleries, and local color. Plus I feel like it helps me burn at least of few of those “vacation diet” calories! Here’s two of my exploring and shopping outfits from our Puerto Vallarta trip.

The first rule of vacation packing: always bring comfortable walking shoes … and several pairs too! I threw in my plastic Old Navy flip flops for around the pool, but ended up wearing them quite a bit. In the area where we stayed, we needed to walk on cobblestone streets for several blocks before getting anywhere with a sidewalk and somehow these were the easiest to navigate.
This colorful tote bag was such a hit and I got asked about it everywhere I went! It’s from Uncommon Goods and unfortunately they no longer have this exact one, but I linked up a few cool ones for you.
Do you take a nice camera on vacation or just use your phone? I debated with myself, and finally decided to leave my DSLR camera at home and just use my phone. I think it was the most practical solution, although looking at the photos now, I certainly can notice the difference in quality.

We always vacillate whether to take the big camera or not!! I do think the phone takes some darn good pictures though. I’m not sure I could really tell a difference!!
That’s good, Jodie! I think they do look okay and gee, it was certainly easier to just carry a phone! OXOX
I have so enjoy this week’s Resort Wear series. We just got back from Naples and I so overpacked. You looked adorable, that black off the shoulder with the red Bauble Bar earrings was my fav!! Happy weekend angel!!
Aww thanks so much, Andrea! OXOX
Love this look!!!
How wonderful to get away and relax. You look fabulous and the photos are great. Thanks for sharing and hosting.
Thanks so much, Rena! 🙂
This looks like a great location. And you look fabulous as always Dawn x
Thanks a million, Laurie! 🙂
You trip looks like so much fun!! I think the iPhone photos looks fabulous. A DSLR is way too heavy to take sight-seeing with you. I usually being mine and end up leaving it in the hotel room due to how heavy it is. Good call on the phone!!
Yeah, I think you’re right. I resisted getting a DSLR for so long and then I went the other way and starting taking it with me everywhere … time for some balance, right?! 😉
Love that white lace top – so pretty and looks great with the relaxed look for vacation! Love those tassel earrings!! You should share this fun outfit post with us at On Mondays We Link-Up 🙂
Trendy & Tidy
Okay I will! 😀
Looks like a great vacation! I’m all for leaving the big camera at home! Last year when we went to Europe we had big discussions beforehand. My husband ended up taking the DSLR, and it worked out alright, but I think it would have been more fun at times without having to lug around the heavy camera…
I think your photos are beautiful and captured the moment…
Thanks for the link up & have a great weekend!
Thanks for the input, Hon. Yes, I think I did the right thing. I know my husband was happier without me lugging around a camera! OXOX
What a fab time you must of had, love your photos – so colourful and vibrant! Good advice here and thanks for the link up. Jacqui

Great holiday outfits! I really like that lace top in the first outfit, such a nice piece 🙂 I usually take my camera on holiday or when we go anywhere but it’s a little one (it’s a mirrorless DSLR so quite compact).

Hope you are having a really good week 🙂

All your vacation looks are fabulous! I love that you wore those flip flops…they are so comfy. My husband always carries the DSLR so I don’t have to. Yes, the big camera is a pain, but good vacation photos to preserve our memories is so important to me.
That’s so nice of your hubby. Mine hates photos so completely. Argh.
Thank you for hosting dear! I’m linking back to you HERE Hope you’ll check out my latest Fashion post
Thanks Coco! 🙂
A holiday just isn’t a holiday without those shopping opportunities…am I right, dearest Dawn?! 😉 You look sooo breezy-glam in that black and white combo with the pops of colour care of your tote (yes! it’s awesome!) and flip flops!! And those cropped jeans and platform sandals?? I’m green with envy…considering there’s yet MORE snow flurries predicted for Vancouver this weekend!! XOXO
Oh boy, it’s been a cold winter for you, right? Thanks so much for the sweet words!

I like your ruffle sleeve top! And I’m very jealous of your sunny vacay right now. I need one soon! Thanks for linking up with Fabulous Friday!
I love what you packed on your vacation. Both looks are fabulous and great for the location. I usually only take my cellphone on vacation because I know I can keep up with it better than a camera.
