Why 5 Years Means So Much to Me

In the past, I’ve lost heart and given up too easily on things.  For example, I had a creative writing teacher tell me that I was very talented, but when I got my first rejection notices in the mail, I lost  belief in myself and quit writing. Looking back, it’s ridiculous.  Do you know how many great stories were rejected over and over again before they got published?

Now my passion is my style blogging, and any creative pursuit that you pour your heart and soul into will be a mixed bag of emotions. There are times when I feel on top of the world and times when my numbers are down or I don’t get a collaboration I was really hoping for, and I start to lose heart and motivation. But I haven’t given up. Ever. For five years I’ve been consistent with writing my blog.  For five years I believed that I had something worth sharing … my vision of a fabulous, fun, and fashionable life over 40!
