Greenery – The Color of the Year!

January 10, 2017

I was happy to hear that Pantone’s color of the year this year is GREENERY, a spring green!  I spent 2016 pouting over Pantone’s picks of Rose Quartz and Serenity last year. Not that they aren’t lovely shades, but I can’t wear either of them very well.  Green, I can wear!  So it surprised me when I shopped my closet for this post and found so little green there. I did find this cozy grandpa sweater and these fabulous Kendra Scott earrings though!

Sidenote on grandpa sweaters: you really need to pair them with something kinda cool, like these wild boots, or the sweater will look pretty frumpy.  Cozy as heck!  But shapeless.

I love wearing my hair back with these Kendra Scott earrings, because the light shines through them and really makes the color pop.

Well, now that greenery is the color of the year, I guess I better start shopping. Oh darn!  (GRIN!) I’ve added my GREENERY lust list!

I also promised my readers more beauty tips and reviews this year. Keeping with the theme, I’m starting out with my green make up: Clinique Quickener for Eyes in Intense Ivy and Clinique Lid Pop in Willow Pop.

review of Clinique eye shadow and liner

I worked as a makeup artist for Clinique through my college years and I’ll forever be a fan.  Clinique always has high quality for a good value.  That said, am I the only dinosaur who prefers old school kohl pencil to these twist wands?  The color is fab, but I just can’t get used to using it.  Once it’s on, it looks good though! The eye shadow is super pretty, just enough shine, and you can layer the color so it can be very soft or you can give it more pop.

MY GREEN LUST LIST

So Dolls, what do you think of the color of the year?  Do you have much green?  Will you be adding it to your wardrobe?

Hey, maybe it will be good mojo and we’ll all get more of the other green this year too!!

I think green is my second favorite color, but even I don’t have a ton of it in my closet. I just think that retailers were’t making much in this color for a long time!
    But yay for green!!
And can we talk about those booties??? I’m so drooling over them!!

Aww … first of all … yay for green! I have more olive green in my closet, but felt like that was cheating for this post. Hee. Aren’t these booties fabulous? I thrifted them for a steal and get so many compliments on them. Unfortunately they aren’t too comfortable, but hey … sometimes a little pain is so worth it! 🙂

Glad to see green is making a comeback. I also have green eyes, so wearing green makes my eyes stand out even more.

I love this particular green! It’s fresh and fabulous and a bit surprising. I’ve got a pair of green and white floral earrings in the works that I can’t wait to roll out to my customers. Love your look and that Fendi bag on your lust list is to die for.

Those boots are fabulous! I love green but sadly I don’t have much of this shade in my closet. Time to go shopping.

I loved last year’s colors of the year. Green is not my favorite color, but I actually have a few green items. You do look GREAT in green! And I can see why you are happy to have a reason to add more green to your closet! 🙂 Those earrings are to die for… And you styled the grandpa sweater perfectly!
