The Leanne Marshall show at New York Fashion Week was a rainbow feast for the eyes!
Leanne Marshall started designing as a child in Yuba City, California. At 18, she won a scholarship to The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco. After graduating, she moved to Portland and worked at a graphic designer. Then in 2008, Marshall was chosen as a the contestant on Season 5 of Project Runway. After that exciting win, Leanne moved to NYC to concentrate on her own bridal line. The Leanne Marshall brand is known for it’s feminine sophisticated lines and flowing silhouettes.
Leanne Marshall’s Spring/Summer 2018 show was full of fabulous sorbet colors … pink, orange, yellow … as well as teal and a deep emerald green. Marshall said she was inspired with her idea of a tropical paradise and who wouldn’t want to go somewhere lush in one of these dreamy dresses?
I love that the show had a variety of models walking the runway, many ethnicities and many shapes and sizes. I’m happy to say that I noticed that as an all over trend this year at New York Fashion Week. Now, can we just get some more beautiful older women on the runways representing all the fresh, vital midlife women that I know and love?
