Pre-Fall Casual

August 12, 2025

With school being back in session, you would think that I’d be sharing my back-to-school teacher looks in the blog this week, but honestly, I’ve been so busy at school that I forgot to take pictures! (I do have some OOTD videos on LTK if you’re interested though.)

Instead I’m sharing a casual weekend look.

Shop this Look:

My wide-leg baggy jeans are old, but I still love them (similar jeans). I’m wearing them with my luxe new Angela Scott Quinn sneakers and my Quince organic cotton cropped cardigan. I’m loving this cardigan right now … perfect for cool mornings, and then chic thrown over my shoulders when it warms up. My Gap V-neck is a wardrobe staple, as is my black leather tote bag (similar).

Also I tried my hair in a half-up style that looks okay in these photos, but kinda funky in real life. LOL. I saw someone on IG wearing it like that and it looked so cute and chic! Well, I tried!

Lately on the blog, a fun coffee date outfit and an updated version of one of my most popular posts ever, how to create a wearable wardrobe!

And pssst, there’s a great bra sale at SOMA this week (8/14 – 8/19)!

Fun & Fashion,

Dawn Lucy

About the blog: Fashion Should Be Fun is me talking to you, other middle aged women like me who are over 40, but not over fashion.  We still want to look beautiful and stylish.  We still want to have fun with trends.  And we don’t need anyone giving us rules, because we’re all different. We all have our own shapes and bodies, parts we’d like to cover and parts we still don’t mind showing off a bit.  This is a place for me to share my love of fashion with you, style ideas, tips, trends, and inspiration. I know how liking the way we look can translate into confidence and energy. I know we have so much life left to live and so much adventure ahead of us. Let’s show the world you’re never too old to have fun and be fierce!
