A San Jose holiday tradition is Christmas in the Park, when our downtown park gets a Christmasy make-over! The park is full of festive decor, old-timey shops, and trees decorated by local schools and charities.
One day before school, my buddy Lynn and I went downtown for coffee and to stroll around and check things out.

First we started off at Nirvana Soul Coffee on First St. in San Jose. It’s such a cute place, with delicious coffee, and the NICEST people ever! If you’re in town, you must check it out!
I wore my new Italian Wool Coat from Quince to keep me warm and toasty on a cold morning, with my Bella wide leg jeans also from Quince. I add a red turtleneck for some extra holiday spirit and my snake booties, along with my All Saints Crossbody bag, Lands End braided leather belt, and some sparkly earrings (Kendra Scott, past season).
Lynn looked chic in wide leg brown pants, a black wool coat, leather tote, and a plaid scarf.

We always end up having a blast together and spend a lot of time giggling. We were the only ones enjoying holiday spirit at 7:30 on Thursday morning. Most of the downtown folks were business people rushing to work and street sweepers. For us, it was an awfully fun way to start a school day!
What sort of holiday things are you starting to do this season?

About the blog: Fashion Should Be Fun is me talking to you, other middle aged women like me who are over 40, but not over fashion. We still want to look beautiful and stylish. We still want to have fun with trends. And we don’t need anyone giving us rules, because we’re all different. We all have our own shapes and bodies, parts we’d like to cover and parts we still don’t mind showing off a bit. This is a place for me to share my love of fashion with you, style ideas, tips, trends, and inspiration. I know how liking the way we look can translate into confidence and energy. I know we have so much life left to live and so much adventure ahead of us. Let’s show the world you’re never too old to have fun and be fierce! Kendra Scott statement earrings and a braided leather belt finish off the look.
