Winter Capsule Wardrobe

January 28, 2020

I was thinking about what pieces I’ve worn over and over this winter and thought I’d share them on a post. And then  I was noticing what a great capsule wardrobe they would make!  So even though this isn’t officially a capsule wardrobe (probably too many pieces right?), I thought it would be fun to look at it as one!  And for those of you excited for capsule wardrobes on the blog, stay posted for something more capsule-y in the future!

These pieces are ones that I wear over and over again.  Some of them are on sale right now too! When I couldn’t find the exact piece, I found something comparable.  As always, feel free to ask any questions in the comments or email me (dawnlucy@fashionshouldbefun.com).  I’m happy to share sizing info and styling tips!

Growing out your Natural Gray Hair … An Update & Some Tips

January 20, 2020

In the beginning of December, I decided to try to join the #ditchthedye movement and transition to my natural hair color.  It’s been an interesting process, with some ups and downs for sure.  And I’m just sharing my journey with my readers!

Curiosity

So in case you missed it, I did some transitional coloring in the beginning of December. But I just went back to the salon this week and decided to skip another transitional dye job, just get a trim …  and … see what happens!  I’m so curious to see what color my hair is now.  How gray is it?  How does the gray mix with my dark ashy blond?  Is it pretty? What’s the texture like now with the gray strands?  So the only way to really tell what I’ve got going on is to stop the dye … and wait.  And wait some more. And I’m not going to lie, it’s going to be awkward.  (I reserve the right to ditch the whole idea and do Lord-knows-what with it!)

Trend Alert: 70’s Collars

January 15, 2020

Harper’s Bazaar and The List are calling them Disco Collars.  In Style prefers the term Exaggerated Collars. Whatever you call them, they’re back, Ladies!  Oversized dramatic collars are hot for 2020!   And apparently you get extra fashion credit if you mix your big collar with some psychedelic florals or graphic prints because Who What Wear announces the return of Retro Prints from the 60’s and 70’s as well!

January 7, 2020

Last weekend, the hubby and I got to spend a weekend in LA feeling like rock stars!  Okay well mostly him, but I sure had fun too!  Here’s a few fun pics and a couple of suggestions on where to eat, shop and stay.  You might even recognize a few fashionistas who showed up!

After a long car drive, relaxing in the room in my plush Soma robe, was a no-brainer!
