Chico’s #HowAreBoldYou Party!

April 24, 2018

Last Thursday, Cathy of Bay Area Fashionista and I were honored to host a party at our local Chico’s store to celebrate Chico’s #HowBoldAreYou campaign.  The new campaign celebrates women of every age living and dressing boldly. Chico’s spring collection is full of bold colors, fun patterns, and amazing accessories.

CHICO’S ATTITUDE

If you haven’t checked out Chico’s lately, you really need to.  This is not your mother’s Chico’s!  Being forty, fifty, sixty, seventy doesn’t mean the what it used to and so dressing for all those ages isn’t what it used to be either.  Chico’s supports women being proud of their age and being bold in their life and their style.  Remember when being middle-aged meant being invisible?  Not anymore, Ladies!

THE PARTY

Chico’s rolled out the red carpet for us … literally! They know how to throw a party with decadent sweets and bubbly champagne!  They even gave out the prettiest summer scarves!

The party was held at the Chico’s store in Santana Row and let me just say the ladies who work there obviously love their job, love helping people put together outfits, and love Chico’s. I can’t wait to stop in again soon!

One of the highlights of the evening for me was meeting some of my readers for the first time!  I can’t thank all of you enough for coming out to meet me.  Gee, I felt special!

Also friends and followers that I know were there to support and have fun!  For some of you, it was your first time shopping at Chico’s and I’m happy that now you can see what all the fuss is about!

I had come to the party prepared to give a little talk on using color and pattern to flatter your figure, but everyone was having such a good time shopping that I didn’t want to interrupt. I mean … come on … we all know better than to get in the way of a woman on a shopping mission, right?!

Here are some tips though, if you’re interested …

HOW TO FLATTER YOUR FIGURE WITH COLOR AND PATTERN

Sometimes we avoid bright bold colors and fun patterns because we’re not sure how to wear them.  But any figure can look amazing in colors and patterns with a little thought!

If you are a pear shape, like I am, you want to keep your bottoms more simple and keep the patterns, bold colors, and accessories above the waist.

If you are an apple shape, you probably want to hide a little tummy.  Actually at this age, most of us have a tummy to hide, don’t we?  Apple shapes tend to have great legs and a nice bustline, so you can emphasize those parts.  A pants with a pattern will look great on you.  Keep the top more simple, with a V-neck or scoop neck.

Or if you want to break all the rules … just do it!  Are you having fun with fashion?  That’s the most important question … always!

And did we have fun with fashion at the Chico’s party? Heck yeah!  Check out some of the photos!
