Hi Dolls! Did you notice my new blog look? I decided to go for something more simple and chic! What do you think? Still making a few tweaks here and there.
Now on to the fashion talk of the day …
I love that mod 60’s look, do you? But a lot of it isn’t too flattering to my body shape. I mean, hello, my thighs haven’t been mini skirt friendly for a decade and sheath dresses are hard for pear shapes to pull off. So whenever I see a cool vintage 60’s looking top that will work on me, I go crazy for it.
A bold yellow, orange and green flower? Polyester sleeveless with a zipper in back? 60s perfection! I have it hanging right next to this in my closet!
It’s a great time of year to buy winter clothes on sale! And it’s still cool enough to wear them!
I had been looking for a plaid flannel shirt with some burgundy all fall and winter and finally discovered this cute peach and burgundy check shirt on sale at Old Navy.
I even found a cute sweater to match for cold morning layers.
I felt a bit like Goldilocks recently looking for a chambray shirt. The shirt was either too big, too small, too dark, too light, too short, too stiff, or too boxy. So this middle-aged Goldilocks was thrilled to finally find this shirt that was just right! It’s Cloth and Stone (an Anthropologie brand) and I found it at Crossroads Trading, a store with new and gently used clothing to buy, sell, or trade.
It was the perfect color and length for me and so soft too. Isn’t the back detail cute?

Denim with denim? Of course! We all know those old rules no longer apply!
And this little guy wanted to come see what Mommy was up to.
Sending out a huge thanks to everyone who has been participating in FUN FASHION FRIDAY! I’m having tons of fun and I hope everyone else is too!
Here are a few of my favorite Valentine’s Day inspired looks from last week …
Debbie of Fashion Fairy Dust is looking hip and chic in her plaid sweatshirt and leather skirt.
Alice of Happiness at Mid-life is a feminine romantic vision in pretty polka dots.
How adorable is Chioma of Chioma’s Evolution of Style in her Barbie pink skirt and denim jacket?
Miriam of Farm Girl outdid herself this week with this precious Valentine’s Day look. Love those red tights!
Laura of I Do DeClaire looks fabulous in this cozy red sweater and those great pattern pixie pants!
So my most adored after Xmas purchase is this fabulous wool leopard coat! I found it at my favorite Willow Glen/ San Jose boutique, Details! (Bay area readers, stop by and check out their chic selection. FB page here.)
I’ve had my eye out for a leopard coat for awhile. I was thinking faux fur, but wasn’t really sure. Then I saw this wool coat and I knew it was perfect for me, with flattering lines and structure. I can style it classy, funky, or glam.
Outfit details:
Coat – BB Dakota (Details in Willow Glen)

Turtleneck – Tommy Hilfiger (Marshalls)

I’m so obsessed with it that I might wear it every day if I didn’t have such cute Xmas gifts that still haven’t gotten any outfit post love yet! I planned to do a lot of photo shoots during my vacation, but the hubby was off with me the whole time, so … that didn’t happen. But it was way more important to have down time together to relax and connect!
One of my 2015 goals: balance!
(To be honest, I think that one is on the list every year.)
How is 2015 treating you so far? Hope all my readers are off to a fabulous start to a magical year!
