Touch of Burgundy

August 14, 2014
The first week of school for a high school teacher is all about looking professional.  Soon I can be a little funkier. But for a first impression, I need the kids to know I mean business!

Outfit details:
Top – Ann Taylor
Skirt – Kasper
Shoes – Franco Sarto
(Yes, I finally bought some shoes for work with a practical heel height!)

The little burgundy bag is a thrift store find.  I thought it punched up the look a bit. Plus, I’m loving burgundy right now with fall just around the corner.

Look at those white legs … and at the end of summer!
What kind of California girl am I?!

Okay, back to correcting papers …

Hope all my dolls are having a fabulous week!

OXOX

I have been a fan of Ann Taylor for a long time. Kinda of surprised that it was not as popular as it should. I see this outfit transformed to night-out with your pair of red pumps.

What a great idea! The red pumps would turn this professional look into a date night outfit for sure! And yes, I love Ann Taylor too!

Chic, chic, chic, dearest Dawn!! LOVE the neckline detail of your Ann Taylor top!! You've paired it absolutely perfectly with that box-pleated black skirt…and your new "I mean business" pumps!! But the pièce de résistance is that lady-like burgundy bag; what a wonderful find!! XOXO

Just love the pop of burgundy! Your top fits you perfectly plus your skirt is a very feminine style, softer than a pencil skirt. You look very professional.
