Amsterdam Street Style (& Link Up)

June 14, 2018

Hello dear friends and readers! I’m back from my trip to Amsterdam with lots of fun stuff to share.

Let’s start the coverage on my Amsterdam trip with some fun street style!  My buddy Rachel and I always snap and share street style pics with each other wherever we go.  It’s so fun that I wanted to share with my readers. So let’s pretend we’re at a cute cafe together, grab a cup of coffee, and let’s see what they’re wearing right now on the streets of Amsterdam.

Bold Prints

I spotted these two beauties on the nine streets (de negen straatjes), a chic little shopping area in Amsterdam and the perfect place to catch some street style … and lucky me, two fab outfits in one shot!

Midi Skirt with Sneakers

I loved this cute wearable look … striped midi skirt, with a simple tee, crossbody bag, and sneakers.  Pratical, comfortable, and easy to replicate.

Backwards Sweater

A fun twist on the classic cardigan?!  What do you think?

Baker Boy Hats

This Dutch beauty is rocking her cute cap.

Shirtdress

This lady looks pulled together and chic in a striped shirtdress with comfortable sandals.  Her friend also looks nice and cool in all white.

Green and Pink Floral Dress

This breezy beauty is stylishly walking her baby through the street with all the designer shops.

Emerald Green, White Lace

On a boat ride through the canals, I spotted this posh looking little gathering.

Mother of Dragons

At the Rijksmuseum, I spotted this sassy street style look.  Love the orange and white dragon tee, the oversized olive blazer, the gray jeans, the camo sneakers, and even the half-do top knot!  I’m getting strong Daenerys Targaryen vibe … am I right, Game of Thrones fans?

Bright Stripes

I found this cute rainbow chick drinking coffee.

Palazzo Pants

This pretty girl looked fresh and cool in palazzo pants and a tank.

Boho Maxis

Loving these hippie chicks hanging out along the canal in their floral boho dresses and fun braids.

Shop Trends

I’ll have much more to share soon, including a round up on how my travel wardrobe held up through my adventures!  And a shout out to those of you who followed my adventures on Instagram.  Loved getting your sweet comments every day!

Truly looking forward to catching up with everyone and seeing what all of you have been doing … and of course wearing!

Fun & Fashion,

Dawn Lucy

Gosh, I love people watching so much!! I think that’s the one thing that Instagram has taken from me—many times I’m too busy on IG instead of looking at all of the fun people!!
    Thanks for sharing, Dawn!!

Aww hope you get better soon, Mica! I’m so jet-lagged still. I was fine when I got there, but getting adjusted back home has been tough for some reason!

What a great trip and all that fashion inspiration! I love it! Everyone seems so stylish, that is definitely not the case here in Orlando!

I love this! First of all, you’re in Amsterdam! Secondly, their styles are so fun. Now I must know…how do you get these fabulous pics of them without them being aware? I see looks that I’d love to capture but I’m too chicken.

I love this! I so often want to snap someone’s photo when they’re wearing a cute outfit but worry about privacy issues. They really dress up in Amsterdam! Love all these looks. I also noticed a priority placed on comfortable footwear!

    • Reply Dawn Lucy June 15, 2018 at 11:52 am

Yay for comfy feet! My understanding is that in a public place (that’s not a bathroom or dressing room) that it’s okay to shoot photos. But just to be safe, I did go back and blur faces!

I loved seeing all of your vacation photos on Instagram—Amsterdam is such a beautiful, unique city. And I especially love people-watching on vacation. It’s cool to see so many trends are global!

Right? I think fashion used to be more specific to location, but with all the social media, everything is more global.

I’ve always wanted to go to Amsterdam. It’s on my bucket list.
I’m glad you blurred the faces of the street scene people. They were so intrusive before, I felt bad for the women!

    • Reply Dawn Lucy June 17, 2018 at 7:57 am

In every single case I meant it only as the most sincere compliment. But someone else pointed this out too and I understand and was more than willing to blur faces. I hope you get to go to Amsterdam soon!
